Who they spend it with?

People's leisure activities alter considerably as they get older. The majority of elderly individuals spend their time watching television or listening to the radio. My grandfather, I recall, was not a great TV watcher, but he was a major news watcher. He used to listen to the news regularly every night, and then he and his pals would have a sort of round-table conversation about current events.

How often do they do it?

Walking together is another way that senior citizens socialize. They never miss an opportunity to catch up with their friends while getting some fresh air in the park every day. They would really walk less but chat more. It's still good, though. Old people require someone to chat to in order to feel less lonely and excluded.

How do they like it?

The third most common way for elderly people to spend their time is to spend time with their grandchildren, as the majority of them are grandparents. While the parents are at work, it is usually the grandparents that spend time with the children in joint families. It is said that because they were too busy raising their own children, the elderly can now compensate by spending their time frolicking with the toddlers.

My grandfather was quite interested in the news, but I don't think he watched TV much. He used to have a round-table debate with his pals about the events of the day after listening to the news regularly every night.

How often do they do it?

If this actually occurred, family ties would be much stronger. But given the enormous generational divide, it should come as no surprise that young and old rarely have similar interests. As a result, there is little possibility that they would engage in the same pastimes in their free time. Younger people are more likely to be glued to their phones, whereas older people are more likely to be spotted engaging in more traditional leisure pursuits like knitting or chess.

How do they like it?

Having fun with their grandchildren ranks as the third most popular past time for elderly individuals, given that the majority are grandparents. When parents are at work, grandparents are typically the ones who spend time with the younger members of the family. It is believed that older adults can somewhat make up for their lack of time spent playing with toddlers because they were too busy raising their own children.
