Hospital Casualty

Welcome to Seabridge Hospital Accident and Emergency Department. Before you register: Is this an urgent visit? Please note the there is an average waiting time of 5 hours before you will be attended to. For your convenience, consider whether you can visit your doctor or pharmacist instead.

Registration: On arrival, please go directly to the registration desk on the far wall opposite the main doors to present yourself. You will be given forms to complete and asked to take a seat. When staff are ready to assist you, a member of the nursing staff will approach you in the seating area.

Treatment number: When you register you will receive a colour-coded treatment number. The colour will show the priority your case has been given. Red - immediate treatment, Orange - high priority, Yellow - medium priority, Blue - low priority. Please keep your number with you at all times. There is a screen indicating which numbers will have the next turn. By watching this screen you can see how many numbers are before yours. We suggest you do not leave the room to go to the toilet or smoke when your number is close to being called.

Seating area: The seating area is on the western side of the department, to your left when you enter the department. Please take your seat there after registration and wait for assistance

Refreshments: There are machines to the right of the entrance doors to purchase water, tea and coffee, other drinks and snack food. They are coin and bank card operated. Please do not approach the registration desk to request change.

Telephones: Telephones are permitted in this area of the hospital but we ask that you restrict their use to limit noise. To the left of the food and drinks machines is a recharging point. We ask that you remain with your electronic equipment at all times while it is recharging. No Smoking: This is a non-smoking facility. You are requested to go outside the main doors to the smoking area near the car park, should you wish to smoke.
