Topic: Health and Food

Model Answer 1:

Some believe that contemporary culture is hostile towards personal fitness goals. Others, however, argue that today we have many options to pursue our fitness goals. Both these arguments indeed have some merit to them.

On the one hand, social media consumption and streaming services take up much of our time. In other words, earlier generations used to get a lot more time to themselves, and it didn’t involve sitting with a smartphone or computer. In most cases, people of a young age were engaged in some kind of sports activities while middle-aged adults mostly liked to travel. In the present scenario, while most of our work is related to technology, even if our work ends, we tend to be hooked onto our devices which boils down to significantly less body movement. This leads to obesity and heart diseases which could have been easily avoided by following an active lifestyle.

On the other hand, growing social media usage among fitness enthusiasts has led to the growth of the full-time profession of fitness influencers. These people post their fitness journey and achievements on social media and gain many followers, potentially influencing others to lead a similar lifestyle. For example, both men and women, young fitness enthusiasts often vlog their daily routines and diet plans. Similarly, they hold online sessions to encourage their followers to pursue an active lifestyle and advise them. Therefore, it can be seen that social media can have a positive impact, too, if fitness influencers are successfully motivating others with a not-so-fit lifestyle.

In conclusion, many people believe that the modern lifestyle is a menace to fitness. While it is true that our growing addiction to social media and computers has made our lifestyle very miserable, it is also true that fitness influencers have turned the table around. Together with their journey and motivational outlook, they influence hundreds if not thousands of people worldwide to pursue their long-lost fitness goals.

Model Answer 2:

It is believed by many people that the current lifestyle of many people is an obstacle to a healthy life. Simultaneously, others think that we still have our agency when it comes to the option of staying fit. Both arguments hold some valid points, but I think the latter is more accurate.

It is a proven fact that the hectic and stressful lifestyle that humans lead during their working-age destroys their physical and mental health. Research has shown that most adults develop chronic health diseases at later points in their lives. For example, diseases like diabetes, heart problems, and high blood pressure are direct consequences of a stressed-induced lifestyle. The same research has also shown that such diseases, even chronic, can be easily avoided if one remains active from working age. However, present-day work culture hardly leaves any time for employees to focus on their physical fitness or mental health.

Such a workload-induced lifestyle has probably led to the emergence of numerous gyms in residential neighborhoods, offering members a convenient and fast way to maintain fitness. In other words, traditional methods like swimming or cycling gyms provide many types of exercises in one single space. Nowadays, with a gym membership, one gets easy access to all kinds of equipment earlier, only accessible to professional athletes. They also get the help of a trainer along with potential diet charts. Thus, gyms have made the modern-day fitness world very much accessible, convenient, and friendly to fit in our busy schedules.

In conclusion, arguments highlight modern-day workforce culture problems that are notorious for pressuring employees not to take fitness schedules. However, at the same time, it can be seen that numerous gyms have conveniently come up to solve this very problem. They offer office goers and other busy individuals a journey to fitness that can be easily accommodated within any kind of busy schedule. Therefore, in my own opinion, if one tries to stay fit, one cannot complain since they indeed have a neighborhood gym.

Model Answer 3:

So many people complain that they cannot find the time to stay fit and healthy because of a hectic lifestyle. Others say that people becoming more conscious of healthy living has become easier to keep fit and healthy. Contrary to the latter group, I side with the former even though both the arguments have some strong points.

People are becoming more health-conscious because of influencer networks and a growing urgency to keep themselves healthy. If not, then there is the burden of rising healthcare costs. In other words, many people have forcefully introduced wholesome routines in their daily lifestyle because of fear of getting sick, which usually means rising debts. For example, there has been a growing concern among males with risks related to smoking and drinking, and data has shown that middle-earning range males often choose to quit or not even indulge in such practices in the first place. Thus, it can be said that the growing consciousness around healthy living has forced people to stay out of unhealthy lifestyles.

On the other hand, the methods for staying fit are decreasing over time. Natural spaces are at an all-time low in cities, and roads are insanely dangerous because of growing traffic. Even the gyms are very costly for any averagely paid middle-class household. This leads to two things. Neither person is getting to walk around nor cycle in cities and gyms with their exorbitantly high membership fees keep people from choosing a healthy lifestyle. Thus, fitness goals have themselves become very costly and are available to people who can afford them.

In conclusion, people rightly think that modern-day people have far less time to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Even if people are more aware of health problems nowadays because of rising healthcare costs, that doesn’t solve the problem. With unplanned and rampant urbanization, people are left with less space to become fit. Even if one chooses a gym, it is only the privileged that get access to such facilities. Hence, in my opinion, people are much worse off nowadays when their healthy living options are considered.
