Model Answer 1

Who they are?

My parents come to mind as the first couple that comes to mind when I hear the phrase "happy marriage." They are the perfect match for me. They have been wed for almost 27 years. I won't claim that the past 27 years have just been filled with smiles and laughter. They have experienced some difficult times together as a couple. But I'm proud to say that they have always found a solution because of their love and respect for one another.

How do you know them?

They are, after all, my parents. My father runs his own business. I've observed him putting in nonstop effort all hours of the day and night to succeed. He occasionally used to work on Sundays as well. He didn't have any days off. He obviously put in all this effort to improve our life. However, he didn't spend much time with his family while doing this. He used to come home hours after I went to sleep and left for work in the morning before I even got out of bed. It was quite painful for me at the moment. But my mother used to chat to me all the time. Please help me to understand that my father only works for us.  Even though I didn't pay her any attention before, now what she said back then makes sense. However, I wasn't the only one who had issues with my father.

What they usually do together?

My mother would occasionally give my father some lengthy, irate lectures about not spending enough time with the family. They even got into some heated confrontations about it. Together, they have also done a great job of raising me. And while they have lived their life together, I am unable to say much about any particular activity that they engage in as a couple because they have both been extremely busy since I was born.

And how you feel about their marriage?

However, as I've already mentioned, they also understood this. They had numerous points of disagreement, and I have no doubt that they will continue to have disagreements in the future. But sticking together is the most important thing. We can picture them holding hands and saying everything will be fine. And thankfully, I often saw my parents doing this.

Model Answer 2

Who they are?

A happy marriage is not where there are no disagreements or arguments. But, in spite of all these, both the partners stick together and always have each other's backs. I've seen them being there for each other, taking care of things, making each other laugh, and being the biggest support system for each other.

How do you know them?

As a grandchild, I’ve spent most of my cheerful days with them. My grandmother and grandfather have been married for over 47 years now. For me, they are the most inspiring couple. There were some really tough times in these 47 years of togetherness. Obviously, I was not there to witness all this with my own eyes. I have heard some of it from my parents, some from my grandmother, and some from my grandfather.

What they usually do together?

My grandfather had a grocery shop in the market. From the shop, he earned enough to cover all the expenses of his wife and child. But, one night, the market caught fire because of a cylinder explosion, and in that fire, my grandfather's shop was burnt to ashes. After that accident, their economic condition started becoming worse and worse. At that point, my grandmother stood like a rock. There were times when my grandfather had almost given up. But grandmother kept on encouraging him. She even started making and selling homemade pickles. Her pickles became so famous that they had to hire two people to fulfill the demand. Now, my grandmother and grandfather own a pickle factory in which almost 150 men and women are employed.

And how you feel about their marriage?

Sometimes, I ask them about how they managed to survive all this and I keep staring at their faces. In reply, they always hold each other's hands and give me a heavenly smile. This makes me realise what kept them going. The support they got from each other. As a couple, my grandparents always complete and complement each other.

Model Answer 3

Who they are?

When I hear matches made in heaven, the first couple that I imagine is my father and mother. They are going to be the best couple. It amazes me how perfectly they understand each other. They’ve been together for thirty-two years.

How do you know them?

We as a family have also gone through a lot of difficult times. There was a time when my mother was on bed rest for almost a year because of a car accident. Two of her ribs were fractured and her right foot was broken. It was really devastating for us. I saw my father cry several times in that one year and saw my mother console him. We used to sit for hours beside our mother's bed holding her hand. But that incident, I would say, brought us closer as a family. When my father was gone to his job, I used to take care of her. And when I went to attend my classes, my father used to take care of her. Though it was tough to see my mother lying on the bed with those stitches and bandages, it was still so pleasing to take care of her, knowing that she was gonna be alright. By the grace of God, my mother has recovered fully in a year.

What they usually do together?

They really like to watch old Bollywood movies. On weekends we would all sit in our dining room, switch off the lights, take out the decade-old projector, and watch old Bollywood movies. The weekends are my favourite for this reason only. This time spent together as a family would always make me realise how lucky I'm to have such a loving family.

And how you feel about their marriage?

My father has been a constant support to my mother and vice versa. It is so pleasing to watch them laugh together. And I can definitely say that my father and mother have been in a happy marriage and pray that their bond always remains this strong.
