Band 8 IELTS essay

The graph depicts the proportion of GDP spent by the government on education, health, roads, and railways from 2000 to the present, as well as projections up to 2025. It is apparent that the amount spent on education and Health has shown opposite patterns up to this point and is predicted to continue in the future.

In 2000, the largest proportion of GDP spent on education was 5%. The amount spent in this field has steadily reduced over time and is now roughly 4.1%; it is predicted to continue to shrink and reach approximately 3.9% by 2025. In comparison, the percentage of GDP spent on health stood at 4% in 2000. This figure increased gradually to 5.6% by 2005, and has remained stable since then. This spending is likely to increase in the future as well, reaching 7.5% by 2025.

From 2000 to 2005, the proportion of GDP spent on roads and railroads climbed little from 4 to 4.5%, but then fell dramatically until 2010, when it hit 3% of GDP. Spending on public transit has increased to around 3.6 percent. This increase in spending is likely to continue until 2020, after which it is expected to decline slightly.

Overall, government spending on health was the lowest in 2000 and is anticipated to be the highest by 2025.

Government health expenditures are projected to rise from their all-time low in the year 2000 to their all-time high in the year 2025.
