Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

With the increase in competition, opportunities have decreased. This has provided acute pressure on the shoulder of the students. They have lesser time for physical exercise or extracurricular activities. They are unable to take out time for their hobbies and other activities. In the long run, this issue will manifest as a serious concern, because physical growth and wellness are as important as mental development.

The need for a good degree from a reputed university has put a lot of pressure on the studies. A new pattern of education to meet the competing market has increased the time a student spends in the university. The studies reveal that the students who are only spending their time in the university without indulging in physical activities are often bogus and not creative. To meet the future demand a student has to be active mentally and fit, physically. There is a serious call on redesigning the education framework by the colleges and universities collectively and preventing it from skewing towards only one facet of the overall growth. Instead, there must be a balance of physical and mental involvement in the university's premises. Apart from that, the government should encourage the universities to chalk out a plan which gives a respectable amount of time to the students to explore other skills. Scientists suggest that; employees who have given adequate time in his/her studenthood in exploring and carving the best of their personalities are the most creative and valuable assets to companies. On the other hand, the bogus employees are never liked by their peers and hence lead to a negative role in the overall aspect of the morale of the team. Universities must draft a framework that focuses on the inclusive growth of students. This should include overall development of a student and not only bookish knowledge.

I believe that with studies, students must also focus on hobbies and practical skills. The outer world is full of hustle and very less time to learn. They need to be prepared for this competitive world. hence, both skills are extremely important.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Full-time or regular university students are required to attend all lectures in order to be eligible for writing exams. Yes, this is the case with many universities around the world.

The rigid attendance policies of the colleges and universities leave no space for the students to take out their time and invest in other dimensions of a student's life and explore the same such as learning new skills, opting for new hobbies, doing internships, etc. The attendance policy of the universities has proven to be one of the barriers in the overall growth of the students. The college policy coupled with competing markets disables students to focus on the other aspects of their life, and they are ensnared in the bogus routine of college and home, leaving no time for them.

The parents are often seen encouraging their child to indulge more in college activities as they too are naïve enough to ignore the broad picture of investing time in the other aspects of life, such as enhancing a new skill. This problem can only be mitigated if the parents and managing board of the universities make a consensus on the attendance policy and conduct the classes in a hybrid mode. Hybrid mode is a method of taking classes where offline classes are also streamed online. So that the arbitrary burden on the students regarding their attendance will be reduced, they can invest their spare time in the enhancement of new skills or other curricular activities and so on. It is pertinent to note that it is not always the universities that are responsible for the regular students which compel the student to spend more time studying; it is often driven by families’ expectations. So an awareness campaign must be carried out narrating the benefits of the curricular activities and practical knowledge besides the theoretical knowledge.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

The education policies are so drafted to meet the contemporary challenges. Today university students spend a lot of time studying because the education policy directs the students to do so.

But this practice has a negative effect in the long run, students who have only imparted education only of theoretical aspects will always lag behind those who have supplemented theories with their practical knowledge. Regular university students were often seen to be found on playgrounds or in music class after school hours but nowadays that practice has disappeared. Now students spend extra time studying even after school hours in the universities’ libraries covering their backlogs of homework or preparing themselves for the classes of the next day. Education should always be promoted but other curricular activities should be encouraged too. The inclusive growth of students depends not solely upon theoretical knowledge or other curricular activities but a beautiful grind of both decides the attitude of the student. Universities if they can't decrease a load of education from the students’ shoulders then they should draft a policy that integrates the other curricular activities with the normal subjects of the universities. Sports, for example, are an excellent method to instill discipline and a healthy lifestyle. However, focusing more on university education is necessary in order to achieve one's goal of gaining knowledge. So this plan will not only help the students to develop their outer selves but also will help in exploring the hidden interests of the students. It is important to note that while architecting such a policy, the quality of education should not be compromised or the extracurricular activities become a burden to them. Instead, they should be complementing each other. In this manner, the future of education will not be producing compassionless robots but a healthy human resource for the country.
