Topic: Fossil fuels are the main source of energy around the world. However, people are being encouraged to use alternative energy sources such as wind energy, solar energy and so on. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Band 7 IELTS Essay

Industries that use fossil fuels are becoming more and more common. However, using other energy sources is advised. For two key reasons, in my perspective, I absolutely concur with this. The environment benefits from renewable energy sources like wind and solar electricity. And they are also more cost-effective than their fossil counterparts.

Wind and solar power are considered to be ecologically benign alternative energy sources. Because they do not emit any harmful gasses into the atmosphere once they have been used. By utilizing these resources, electricity may be produced to power electric cars and trams. Which are common in much of the globe and emit no carbon dioxide. They must be used to power petroleum-consuming transportation, unlike other fossil fuels. Like coal, oil, and petroleum. However, because of the enormous number of harmful chemicals released into the atmosphere. This causes a threat to the environment, such as global warming.

In addition to the reasons mentioned above, I think that using renewable resources helps a nation's economy. Because they frequently cost less than fossil fuels. As long as the right equipment is provided, wind and solar energy are readily available and omnipresent and can be obtained practically anywhere. In most electric stores today, you may find equipment like a wind generator or a solar panel. Allowing governments to invest in and produce electricity for their nation. In contrast, since coal and oil are underground and must be extracted using sophisticated drills. And other pricey equipment, fossil fuels necessitate a great deal of effort and work to produce. In my view, there are various benefits to adopting green fuels. The weather improves when alternative fuels are used, which is the second benefit. Finally, since most green energy sources are renewable, if people employ green fuels, the energy crisis will be resolved.

Finally, it is clear that the use of carbon fuels has been widespread for a long time. However, I feel that focus should be given to renewable energy sources. Like wind and solar electricity because they are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly.

Band 8 IELTS Essay

The main sources of energy around the world are hydrocarbon fuels like coal and gas. But people are now being pushed to use renewable energy sources instead. I think this is a good development since they will help us combat climate change and as they are cheaper alternatives.

Solar, wind, tidal, or geothermal energy generation should take the place of conventional energy sources since they mitigate climate change. This means that because these renewable energy sources don't emit any carbon dioxide. We can reduce our environmental impact and minimize the harm caused by petroleum by using them, which will help to improve the planet.

Because they are cheap when compared to fossil fuels, which seem to be expensive. And because it is affordable to establish an energy production system using them, renewable energy resources bring about positive change. Solar and wind energy can be obtained for free since they are naturally present all over the world. Unlike coal and natural gas, whose costs are often regulated by the global market. Additionally, they have low recurrent maintenance costs, which significantly eases the economy's load.

It cannot be disputed that coal and gasoline account for more than 70% of global energy use. The numerous toxic gasses that are released during combustion are the main contributors to global warming. And are hazardous to both human health and the environment. I therefore think there are numerous advantages to using renewable energy sources. The fact that they have not produced carbon, which is bad for human lungs, is the most important. Many scientists think that breathing in the gas carbon dioxide has a similar impact to smoking cigarettes.

In conclusion, I think that using solar and wind is a welcome development because they reduce climate difficulties. And especially because they offer economically feasible alternatives to oil, coal, and gas.

Band 9 IELTS Essay

Around the world, main energy sources include coal, oil, and natural gas. Recently, government agencies have begun to advocate for the usage of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar. This is a good development, in my opinion, because renewable sources are environmentally beneficial, unlike coal or gasoline.

First off, there is no denying that non-renewable resource demand has risen alarmingly. 85% of the energy used in the world now comes from fossil fuels. Yet when they are consumed, their carbon dioxide emissions are what mostly cause global warming. This causes a number of issues, including the melting of polar glaciers and ozone layer degradation, among others.

On the other extreme, clean energy is produced through renewable sources. This improves the condition of our planet and life on earth by resulting in a pollution-free environment. For instance, the WHO agency noted that the quality of air in European nations has dramatically improved. Since they began depending on more renewable radiation 10 years ago.

Second, because it demands extremely high temperatures and pressures, fossil fuel cannot be created in a laboratory. And must develop over millions of years from dead plants and animals buried deep within the earth's crust. As a result, if fossil fuels are used at this rate, they will eventually run out. Furthermore, once it burns, it cannot be used again. Renewable energy, as opposed to non-renewable energy, comes from sources that are regenerated naturally. The cost reductions over time readily justify this expenditure in solar or wind energy, despite the relatively high initial installation cost.

In summary, moving to alternative energy sources like wind or solar is a good idea. Because they generate energy that is clean, green, and doesn't actually hurt the environment. There is no risk of these sources ever running out because they are renewable.
