Model Answer 1

In recent times, university applicants need to have better academic performance to get admission. People argue that everybody should be allowed admission to university study programs regardless of their level of academic ability. I disagree with this and have explained my opinion in the following essay. I believe university admission should be based on the merit of the students. Most of the colleges hold admission tests to evaluate the past performance of the candidates as every college has a limited number of seats. Allowing admission of all the students in any university would create chaos. Firstly the deserving candidates won’t be able to take the advantage of the courses properly. Secondly due to excess students, which is beyond the seating capacity would create an intolerance situation. The competitiveness amongst the students shall not prevail if there is no admission criteria in the university. The students must work hard to get admission to their desired university. A student’s true abilities would be dimmed if there weren’t any admission requirements. I also believe that the intellectual level differs from individual to individual. So, if anyone can get admission to any university that university would have under deserving candidates in every course. For instance, a doctor who is pursuing a doctorate only because there were no admission criteria would be hazardous in the future. Everyone can’t cope with the stress of long studying hours, so there are few opportunities for anyone to become a professor or a doctor. Additionally, I feel it is futile to enroll in a course that would not interest the candidate. It would be unlikely to achieve success in a specific course in which the student is less efficient and has a less keen interest. This would degrade the profession. It can be an engineer, doctor or a professor. However, people may claim that it is our right to get educated and be able to get into desired universities without meeting any requirements. Regardless, if colleges accept such applicants, the quality of the colleges would be drastically reduced. Lastly, I consider that the academic credentials of students should determine their admission to universities.

Model Answer 2

In the modern period, where education plays a vital role in the development and improvement of the society. People argue that everybody should be allowed admission to university study programs regardless of their level of academic ability. I agree with this and have explained my opinion in the following essay. I believe that every individual has some area of interest and hidden talent which would lead the path of a successful career. To start with, there are many reasons which point out that the opinion is correct. First of all, in many countries, a student with higher scores got dropped out as they wanted to pursue their passion. For instance, we all know that Steve Jobs 'The Apple CEO was a high school dropout. Thus, based on the marks always doesn’t determine the suitability of any particular course. Another world famous person, Elon Musk once said that marks don't decide the talent of an individual. Therefore, I believe the government should give more importance to identifying people's individual skills instead of academic-based education. On the other hand, the role of government must not only end by identifying the skills of an individual rather it must take the responsibility to nurture those skills by providing the required training. So that the individual can enhance the skill later in the work life and achieve success. This would play an important role in the growth of the country that directly and indirectly depends upon the skills or talents of people. Lastly, in conclusion, I would like to add that a country’s future depends on the young generation. Education does play a major role in the development of the country as well as an individual’s life. Education up to a certain level is necessary. But university education should be less restrictive as a student can be talented and still couldn’t get admission due to his poor grades in the least interesting subjects.

Model Answer 3

People believe that college admission for students should be allowed notwithstanding their academic qualifications. I disagree with this and have explained my opinion in the following essay. First of all, college admission for students can lead to failure if it isn't merit based. Then secondly, allowing admission of all the students to any university is surely a waste of resources.

To start with, if primary institutions would let students study courses that they have not indicated a poor mental capacity for, it can lead to failure. This is because those with insufficient abilities in any course are more likely to get an average result or maybe face failure. The average performance is no good in the long run. Also, receiving failing grades or repeating years is also of no use, it just wastes time, energy, and resources. Accordingly, there would be graduate students with modest degrees or maybe no degree at all. This shows the lower chances of securing well paid jobs and of creating satisfying careers for the future. For illustration, a survey conducted by the Indian government in 2019, showed that on the average, students who graduated with 3rd class degrees or below earned 10 times lower than their counterparts with better results. Additionally, allowing men and women to study without proof of their ability to do so, might result in a lot of resources being wasted. The reason for this is that third level education is expensive, costing more than 72,000 per year in India depending on the courses. On the other hand, if a student picks an area of study that interests them then it would not be difficult for them to complete the course and can have a secured job in the future. In conclusion, I would likely add that some people believe that all students should be admitted into the university to study academic programs, irrespective of their high school grades. I firmly disagree with this and have discussed that it could lead to disappointment and wastage of time and money.
