Band 7 IELTS Essay
It is true that generally artists including entertainers get paid far more than even politicians. With the help of technological growth and development, the entertainment industry is flourishing efficiently. It is a positive development because politics should not be a means to amass a fortune. Entertainment is amongst the most lucrative industries mainly due to developments in media distribution. Vaudeville actors and musicians in the early 1900s were looked down on and earned little.
The birth of cinema in the 1920s and the rise of television in the 1950s helped entertainers reach a wider audience. From there the rise has continued not only with the diversification of television but also the invention of portable music players, CDs, and streaming websites. All these new media reaches the majority of the world’s population who then pay for content by subscribing or watching paid advertisements. This is a positive change because politics should not be a profit-driven profession. A good example of this would be the early American founding founders, including George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Both of whom sacrificed private wealth to serve the public. Hamilton was the leading lawyer in New York and when he enthusiastically joined Washington’s cabinet he took a drastic cut in salary. By the end of his term, he was mired in debt yet had no regrets as he viewed public political action to be far more valuable as compared to private capital. Politicians ought to earn a good salary but this should never subvert their chief motive in serving their country. Summing up, entertainers make more money due to the advent of the media age and politicians should not have a problem with their wealth. Unfortunately, most politicians are selfishly compelled by economic gain when they ought to be more self-interested in terms of their role in public life.

Nowadays, people working in the entertainment sector have higher income than those working in the political sector. Advertisements have evolved into a celebrity fame game. As brand ambassadors, celebrities are connected with certain brands. They become influencers, with millions of followers. This not only increases their earnings but also builds a large fan base. In Spain, for example, football team players have a larger fan base than any politician. When celebrities endorse a product or advertising, they gain not only more money but also greater reputation and recognition in their own countries. The third factor is celebrity skill and the effort it takes to keep it awake. Politicians are respected members of society in every country. However, celebrities are the ones who win people's hearts and minds, as well as earn more money for their various jobs. The third aspect to this topic is the skills of celebrities and their efforts are more when compared to politicians. Thus, it is more commonly witnessed celebrities are able to win people’s hearts and earn money more when compared to politicians. In addition, celebrities invest longer hours to ensure their fitness and work upon development of their skills.
Band 8 IELTS Essay
Both politicians and entertainers are public figures and have higher income however, the latter earns more than the former. The proliferation of the internet has led to the popularising of legendary artists like Taylor Swift and Harry Styles on a massive level. Thus, it can’t be argued that celebrities earn more than the politicians of any given nation. This essay will discuss this aspect in the preceding section. The recent development in the technological sector argues that entertainers are benefited more when compared to the politicians.
The major reason can be highlighted as entertainers can earn more due to increased following and the duration of their advertisements over the e-platforms. For example, whileI was pursuing my MBA marketing course from Canada, I found that the number of entertainers varies based on the entertainer. Thus, it can be said that the more the number of followers a celebrity has, the more he/she earns on a daily basis. A makeup artist that has more than 30,000 followers over Instagram can earn 10,000 CAD on a weekly basis. This is considered to be a significant amount when compared to the earnings of a politician. If this politician, on the other hand, had an Instagram account, he would almost likely make more money than they do. Moreover, several artists and their arts have a significant role to play in their follower’s or viewer’s lives. This can be attributed to the fact that these artists are knowledgeable. For example, a person who is a painter can inspire his/her followers to paint in several different manners. They might also inspire its followers to view the world and its beauty. Thus, this also helps the followers to carry positive perspectives in their life. To sum up the argument, I would like to mention that it is conspicuous that entertainers have positive impact on some and negative on others.
