There are more and more effective security measures in large cities to reduce crime. For example, the installation of anti-crime devices in cities. Does this endeavor bring more benefits than problems?

As we all know, the crime rate in big cities is increasing day by day. The question that is brainstorming many minds is if effective security will be helpful in reducing crime? The government is taking many steps to reduce the crime rate. Few are effective while few are considered to be making civilians' life difficult. Few security devices that we are depending upon are surveillance cameras, metal detectors, security alarms, etc.
How helpful are these security gadgets? To understand with the help of an example. A theft was attempted at a very popular bank, but failed as there were security alarms installed. When the thieves broke the shutter and entered the bank. The security alarm started ringing and the message was sent to the branch manager, and the branch manager informed the police. As the alarm rang, the thieves left the place without robbery but were caught with the help of surveillance cameras installed on various streets and roads. Nowadays surveillance cameras are installed in most of the places like schools, malls, streets, etc. With the installation of these security devices, criminals are thinking twice before committing a crime. These devices are making police work easy by providing all the details and whereabouts of criminals. Thus, in my opinion, advanced security measures are very beneficial and cost-effective to prevent crime. Although many people feel that installing cameras everywhere can be evading the privacy of civilians. People feel that privacy is a part of their right to freedom. Security cameras installed in gardens, streets, malls are recording each and every action/step of a person. These recordings can go to the wrong hands and can be misused. So there is also a voice against these security devices that people are losing their right to freedom.
So, to sum up, all the above points lead to the result that there are many benefits of using security devices. On the other hand, they are also creating a threat. We need to maintain a balance between individuals’ privacy and safety. Hence, here I support the topic, if effective security measures are taken, crime can be reduced.

The developing countries are undergoing the problem of increasing population, with the increase in population comes many other demands. Like increasing demand for jobs, growing needs, food, cloth and many more. Not all people are earning that much to satisfy their needs, some don’t even have jobs. Some people opt for the criminal route or start doing some illegal activities. The main reason for increasing crimes is still unknown but if we follow effective security measures crimes can be taken care of or kept under control. In the current era, technology is spreading feet in all directions and many devices are discovered to help us in various ways.
Crimes are growing in big cities as the requirements of people are not satisfied and employment is also not available for each and every person. As crimes are growing in big cities, safety measures are also taken to prevent them. Many anti-crime devices are helpful for this purpose.
Few extremely important gadgets that are in huge demand are surveillance cameras, metal detectors, drones and many such kinds of devices. In big towns the CCTV cameras are installed wherever possible, they help to track the criminal from many different locations. The second important security device that can be seen everywhere is a metal detector. Which can help in identifying any criminal or psychotic carrying any weapon or bombs. While entering public places like malls or schools, airports, hospitals, railway stations, colleges, etc. The metal detector is used at the entrance of many places to check the people before entering the premises. For an instance, if a person with a bomb is entering any public place where a metal detector is installed. The machine will detect them and start blaring. The security department will come into action and they will stop the person and inform the police. In this way, millions of people can be saved.
Many people feel that security checking is a waste of time. CCTV cameras are an invasion of devices at privacy but in my opinion. If you have life, there is a world. Life is one precious thing and we cannot risk it for the sake of privacy. So I support all the modern gadgets for security and I’m in favor of the statement that if the security is effective, crimes can be stopped.

At present, we see people becoming irritated with governments because of encroaching their privacy by installing security devices in public places. For example, while using security systems such as CCTV systems has alleviated the concerns of the government. They are at present endangering ordinary people’s daily activities. A lot of us, in some ways, would be afraid of not being able to do what we wish to do avoiding being looked at. Furthermore, the increased number of cops on the streets has also restricted the sense of freedom for the public. As every activity of the public is being looked at and scrutinized, which provides no comfort to them.
Leaving aside these drawbacks, the anti-crime equipment has already done well in its job of providing safety to the inhabitants of the cities. Firstly, the use of surveillance cameras would make it easier for police to detect criminal activity. As a consequence, the rate of criminal offences may eventually decrease. Because criminals are now afraid of getting caught without being successful at their reckless plans to harm the public. Furthermore, these methods have instilled in people a sense of security, as it guarantees their protection throughout the day. As a result, the public would be able to leave their concerts to their governments and focus on living their lives.
To conclude, while some may be concerned about so many anti-crime measures for the sake of privacy. It is about time that the security measures are carried out in the right way for the sake of better quality of life.
