Band 7 IELTS Essay

A diet high in sugary foods is unhealthy because it is primarily linked to high cholesterol levels or the development of other heart diseases. The most significant factor is that eating too much sugar raises blood sugar levels, which ultimately results in diabetes. Additionally, diabetes has a number of negative side effects that seriously harm people's health. To be healthier, one should typically limit their daily intake of sugar in beverages like tea. And in essence, true human consciousness is the means by which this is accomplished. The ability to stop oneself from restricting the consumption of too much sugar lies within each individual.

But today's market has recognised the potential of foods without added sugar, which has led to a large number of products being made available to consumers. However, it appears that there is still a disparity between supply and demand for products without sugar. Regarding avoiding eating too much sugary food, consumer awareness is quite low, and ignorance is comparatively higher. As a result, actions taken by the government or by activists may have an impact on the general public's eating habits.

Furthermore, it will take more time for people to become aware of the harmful effects of regularly consuming too much sugar. The hardest things to change are the culture and habits. Therefore, some materialistic policies, like raising the price of sugary goods or imposing progressive taxes, may have an effect on how people live. This will aid in lowering sugar consumption. Long-term effects of awareness initiatives are possible. Increasing the demand for sugar-free food may be accomplished by manipulating the general public's common sense against the use of excessive amounts of sugar.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

A healthy lifestyle is an aspiration for all but there are very few who actually follow it. A lifestyle has multiple tasks within it which need to be sustainable enough to be healthy. And one very important ingredient of the same is a balanced diet. However, attaining this balanced diet requires a lot of effort and determination.

Usually, even if we consume some healthy food such as fruits or other preservatives, we ignore the ingredients. Rather, we shall focus on food items that have less sugar content. This means that excessive amounts of anything can harm human health. Health issues due to extra sugar intake vary due to multiple factors such as the level of disease, stage of identification of disease, types of treatments, etc. Problems related to cardiovascular diseases, kidney failure, etc. are so common they happen due to more blood sugar levels in the body. Treating such diseases is a cakewalk but only for the affluent and privileged. Not everyone gets the opportunity to have such levels of highly costly treatments. They usually resort to improper treatments wherein the poor environment prevails and instead of getting treated, such harmful diseases cause worse situations.

Therefore, it is preferable that the health campaigns magnify the issue which arises due to increased intake of sugar by elders, youngsters, and even teenagers. Gradual awakening of the same shall help in changing the attitude of people towards their lifestyle. And simultaneously they could manage to get a healthier life and that too at a lesser cost. The role of media, both print and electronic also play a great role in the same. Promotion of sugar-free products via some great personalities and less taxation on such products might attract consumers and change their habits.

Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Sugar is both sweet and bitter, not in taste but in terms of impact. Every celebration begins with a teaspoon or maybe more of sugar. But nobody realises its after-effects. Maybe the social and health awareness about the same is so less that the problems related to it are usually not considered. Countries like India are known as the diabetic capital of the world.

Though it is a developing country it still manages to have the highest population and that too maximum between the age of 20 – 25. And then too, it has so many diabetic patients. This represents the unavailability of people towards realising the fact of harmful impacts of increased consumption of sugar. The more calories there are the more weight gain and health problems. Weight gain is itself a serious issue which the majority of the time happens due to inadequate diet. Regular and excessive intake of sugar in any form harms human beings in various ways. However, these symptoms are not realized instantly but do appear during old age.

People should be self–aware of the lesser consumption of sugar, the market should try to replace sugar with something less harmful. Therefore, governments shall also declare a campaign or program for making people realize the harmful impacts of excessive sugar consumption. This will help with educating individuals based on the amount of consumption of sugar in their daily lives. They should try to work on better alternatives for the masses which make the shift easier from one habit to another. This in turn will also be able to save a lot of people from health problems.
