Band 6.5 IELTS Essay

Most of the countries of the world are facing the problem of poor health of children and youth. Most of this has come from the change in lifestyle and food habits of this generation. Some people claim the eating habits and lifestyle of children in the present have been changed from the previous generation and I totally agree with this statement. In this essay, we will discuss what are the factors that are affecting these changes.

Firstly, the eating style and behavior have changed a lot in the present. Nowadays, processed food and fast food have become a trend and favorite meal of the generation. These fast foods contain a huge amount of sugar, fat, and salt in every dish. Usually fast foods are made in roadside stalls. They are very unhygienic. It could be harmful to people of all ages, especially children. Consumption of fast foods on a daily basis can lead to liver failure, cancer and diabetes. Previously there was no availability of fast foods. People used to have home made foods and hence, lived longer without any ailment. The lifestyle that people lead also leads to many harmful diseases. We do not understand that until we reach a certain age. More and more children nowadays spend time playing computer games in their bedroom which have beneficial outcomes to train their mind. In contrast, this habit has many disadvantages, for example, they become addicted. This leads to the lack of contact with their friends. They do not go out to play in the fields and do exercise. This makes them unfit and they also get sick very easily. Social media and mobile devices have a huge impact. They sleep late at night which affects the metabolism and inturn causes indigestion.

To sum up, the lifestyle and eating habits in children and adults have changed from previous generations. I believe that children should learn to understand how to eat properly and try to do more physical activities. This will keep them healthy and away from ailments.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

One could say that people's health and way of life have changed over the past few years all over the world. While some people think that this change has many negative effects, I would argue that there have been more positive ones.

Without the scientific knowledge that we have today, many people in the past didn't get the right diet. Everyone is aware of the essential nutrients they require for a healthy diet thanks to the information we have. For instance, in the past, pirates frequently contracted scurvy, a disease brought on by a lack of vitamin C. However, thanks to research, people were able to determine the causes of the disease and implement a diet richer in nutritious foods to prevent illness.

In addition, despite its importance to people's well-being, the idea of staying fit and active was never brought up in prior years. However, health research has consistently urged students to engage in physical activity at a young age to maintain fitness. For instance, until the tenth grade, physical education is required in Australia. This guarantees that the students will be able to maintain their fitness throughout subsequent years. As a result, more people learn about the negative effects of sitting around and live long lives.

In conclusion, despite the fact that our eating habits and way of life are very different from those of our grandparents. I believe that the positive outcomes for us and future generations will result from the changing nature of these areas.
