  1. How often do you drink water?

I drink water every day at regular intervals. Water is important and it helps us to stay hydrated. Water boosts Metabolism in the human body. This means that drinking water helps achieve weight loss goals. Drinking water is essential for good health and keeps me from feeling irritated so it’s needless to say that I drink water quite often.

Vocabulary:

Hydrated- drinking enough water
Metabolism- quick digestion of food
Irritated- annoyed

  1. What kind of water do you like to drink?

I am not picky about my drinking water as long as it's safe to drink. Usually, I drink the water from the purifier machine that I carry around in a refillable water bottle so that I don’t have any excuse to postpone drinking water. On rare occasions when I am traveling, I drink packaged water that comes in bottles because it’s difficult to trust the source of unprocessed water due to all the pollution that’s happening around us and it can lead to water-borne diseases.

Vocabulary:

water-borne diseases- diseases that are born due to stagnant water

  1. Do you drink bottled water or water from water machines?

I drink water from water machines. The water in my country is salty due to high levels of groundwater exploitation. Hence, tap water isn’t fit to drink without appropriate filtration. A water filter is installed in almost all homes in my locality and it’s cheaper to use that than to buy bottled water every day, not to mention, bottled water promotes single-use plastic which is harmful for the environment.

Vocabulary:

Exploitation-the action or process of using someone or something for own’s benefits

  1. Do you like to play in water?

Yes, very much so. I come from a tropical country and on a summer afternoon there is nothing better than splashing around in cold water. We don’t have many pools but there is a large river with areas demarcated for swimming which make up for my water fun even though I don’t know how to swim but I am thinking of learning how to swim since I love frolicking in water so much and swimming is a useful skill to have especially when I am playing in a river.

Vocabulary:

Frolicking- play or move about in a cheerful and lively way
