Model Answer 1

Extracurricular activities are necessary for the overall development of students. Not all students excel academically. Some students are more inclined towards extracurricular activities. Therefore I believe that extracurriculars are important in a student’s life. Extracurriculars help in the physical and mental growth of students. Studying alone will get lethargic at some point. Extracurriculars on the other hand will help students find their passion and follow their dreams. Only studying can sometimes lead students to stress, depression and there have been cases wherein the students have committed suicide. I believe that teachers who insist on students to only commit to their academics are wrong. They should promote students to keep a balance of both academics as well as extracurriculars. It is a common misconception to think that only students with good grades and degrees can lead a better life. To cite a few examples some eminent personalities like Ms Dhoni, Virat Kholi, Walt Disney. All followed their passion and now have become some of the most famous personalities. Virat Kohli was an all rounder. He was a bright child in academics as well as sports. If he hadn’t followed his passion, today we wouldn’t have the best cricketer of all time. I believe students from a very young age should be exposed to such extracurriculars. Young children are inquisitive and can grasp things easily. Undoubtedly students should get good grades and keep themselves up-to-date with the theoretical knowledge of their respective subjects. Human brain gets tired after a point thus, there is no harm in rejuvenating our brain by participating in extra activities. However, students must not devote their entire time in extra curricular alone. Students must balance both academics and their extracurriculars accordingly. Extracurricular also improves the physical health of students. They act as a mind fresher for the students.

Model Answer 2

I completely agree with the fact that extracurriculars are an important part of a student’s life. I believe that extra curricular is important for an overall development of the students. It enhances their mental, physical and emotional growth. Besides, it adds value to their resume as well. A student with good grades and extracurriculars are preferred more by universities and employers. Students sometimes might not do as well in life with the subject they have chosen. And can switch over to their extracurriculars and pursue them for a better life.
If Walt Disney would not have followed his love of cartoons. The world would never have been introduced to characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie mouse, goofy and pluto. He followed his passion for cartoons and opened the world to animations for which he won several academy awards. It is just one of the examples. Some other eminent personalities include Ms Dhoni. Ms Dhoni is a world-renowned cricketer today. His love for cricket made him the man he is today. It is wrongly portrayed in today's world that getting good grades are the only way to judge a student’s capabilities. People do not realize that extracurricular prepare’s students for the real world as well. Students can indulge in a plethora of extracurriculars like music, theatrics, sports, even learn foreign languages or that matter. It opens the doors for students to explore other career options apart from their traditional subjects. Also, every student does not excel at studies. Employers while hiring for an internship or a job or even foreign universities when admitting a candidate would prefer candidates that have an extra edge, rather than just focusing on their academic excellence. Thus, I confer that extracurriculars are an important part of a student’s life.

Model Answer 3

I confer that extracurriculars are an important part of a student’s life. However, students should not completely neglect their academics due the extracurriculars. I believe that students from a young age must indulge in extra-curriculars. It helps them broaden their minds, simultaneously also working on finding their passions in life. It helps them in the development of motor skills. Also, it helps them to attain mental stability and mental well being. Extracurriculars prepare students for the real world. It is a disbelief that students must only focus on their traditional education to earn good and lead a better life. Former US secretary of Education and an American conservator politician once said that. Just like writing, reading and arithmetic arts, dance and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishments. To cite a few examples there are several imminent personalities out there that have made it without a degree. Robert Evans an Australian-born astronomer is known for his visual discoveries in Supernova. Sean Connerey, John D. Rockefeller, Abraham Lincoln,Bill Gates, etc., all dropped out of their traditional education to achieve something else. These are just a few examples. I believe if someone has the inner calling to achieve something different she/he should definitely pursue their goals. I cannot stress this enough that formal education is also a must and must not be neglected. However, judging solely based on their academics is wrong and not justified. In today’s world wherein 5 and 6 years olds are becoming prodigies, biasing students on the basis of their grades is completely wrong. Thus, students should be pushed to indulge more in extracurriculars in conjunction with their academics. Extracurriculars are important to increase the creativity and intelligence of the student. It adds one more point to the overall personality of the child.
