Advantages: This allows us to save our time and money as we need not commute so we get opportunities that are independent of time and place. Another advantage is self-paced studies and this reduces stress to a great extent & we learn things on our terms. So our learning graph improves and we are ecstatic to enhance our horizon of cognitive abilities without feeling burdened. We need not leave our jobs as we can plan things whenever we have time and our job schedule allows it Virtual means not only make it feasible to interact with the professor but also with other people around the world taking the same course. Chat rooms and e-mails enable us to interact with people of different cultures and countries which provide us with more insight & exposure to different points of view & ultimately help us to understand things better.
Disadvantages: This is suitable for only those students who can impose self-discipline on themselves. If we require moral support and motivation constantly then this is not for us. We can make use of it only if we know how to use modern technology comfortably & with facility. Some people don't find it convenient to study without physical material. This is a bit costly as well. We need to have a computer and access to the internet which is onerous for some It is said that opportunities always come with challenges.
