Band 6 IELTS Essay

The study of history is currently seen from two different angles. Some people believe that studying history is a waste of time, while others believe it is important for our future. I truly believe that studying history will be very important for understanding the past, and this essay will examine both points of view.

In conclusion, I will provide my viewpoint. On the one hand, many people hold the opinion that studying history is a waste of time. They have no interest in reading history because of this. They also want to convey to others that doing so will waste their time. And that there are a number of other things that they may do instead that might be beneficial to them in the long run. Additionally, they are unaware of the past. One of my friends, for instance, is often complaining about how outdated history is in the modern age and how everything has changed from the past. History, on the other hand, is like light. We can navigate the future using the lessons learned from the past. Unquestionably, having excellent information may aid us in determining the greatest course. And as a result, we will be able to save time for a variety of objectives once we can find our way fairly quickly. As an example, I read a lot of historical fiction, which aids in my ability to make wise decisions in my daily life. Additionally, history will continue to repeat itself, and we may use that for a variety of reasons. In conclusion, I really feel that studying history is a great way to lessen our mistakes. Finally, studying history and gathering facts about the past are necessary if we wish to live in a very safe environment. The internet, a great resource for historical research, can be used in this situation. In order for future generations to completely comprehend and learn about their surroundings and country, historical sites must be preserved.

Band 7 IELTS Essay

A person's life is profoundly impacted by history. History provides a wealth of information on heritage and culture. To secure both the present and the future, one must study history in depth. The preservation of historical monuments is another requirement. In the paragraphs that follow, both essential elements are discussed.

Starting out, nations like India have experienced a drastic change in their dynamics over time. It has been observed that India is a nation with a rich cultural legacy, academic excellence, etc. The following are just a few of the many elements that contributed to historical studies. To begin with, there is a rich culture, religion, and legacy. To provide one instance, In India, cultural and linguistic differences transcend national boundaries. Studying history can help one understand how and why things are the way they are. It is possible to gain insight into societal customs and proverbs through studying history. In addition, India is home to outstanding scholars in every subject. Studying history is the only way someone may come to understand their sacrifices and labour. There is no denying that a person can provide direction to his or her own life and create a bright future by studying history. The importance of historical monuments will be discussed further. A nation is represented by a monument. As a result, it serves to boost a country's prestige. For instance, the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, symbolises India around the world. In spite of this, historical sites promote the tourism sector, which generates jobs and a slow but steady improvement in the nation's economy. The government must take several measures to protect it. Including carrying out proper routine maintenance and investing extra funds in the monuments that are listed as global heritage sites. Individualism is likewise a key component, as is, furthermore, the idea. To sum up, I will underline that learning about history makes people feel incredibly proud of their nation and connects them to its legacy. The preservation of historical sites is necessary going forward so that future generations can fully understand and learn about their surroundings and country.

Band 7.5 IELTS Essay

Many people believe that history serves as both a window into the past and a mirror of the future. Others, however, place far greater emphasis on studying and practising disciplines and professions that are more crucial. Such as science, the arts, technology, engineering, and so forth, and see little value in learning about history.

I believe that knowing about history is useless, and that we would be better served by spending our time learning about technology. On the one hand, history gives us the chance to learn about our past society, culture, significant local, national, and international events. As well as the results of significant choices, conflicts, social transformations, and so forth. As the lessons from history can help us prevent disasters or plan for a better future, it aids in our ability to do so. For instance, history can teach us what started a big conflict or how a natural disaster devastated people. Such information and understanding are vital for averting wars and natural disasters in the future. Additionally, a lot of historical events and discoveries motivate us to create new technologies or theories that advance science and society. However, when studying history, the majority of students learn and memorise significant dates, events, causes and outcomes of something, etc. The main reason why people study history outside of the academic sphere is to get knowledge about the past. In the real world, this research is essentially meaningless. Nearly none of the present world's survival strategies require knowledge of how ancient people managed to get through. The same is true of ideas; familiarising yourself with earlier inventions has minimal bearing on coming up with a brand-new idea. Additionally, understanding about the numerous battles and wars that have occurred throughout human history may make people less respectful. I firmly believe that in order to make positive changes in the society they live in, people should spend more time learning about and exploring science. To sum up, history can provide us with some information about the past that, in my opinion, is not particularly useful for influencing the present. For a better future, it is more useful to learn and develop our knowledge and skills in science, the arts, and technology.
