Band 8 IELTS Answer

Discipline is the invisible bridge between goals and accomplishments. Self-discipline or control over emotion and action is very important to be a successful person. It is very important for an individual to practice self-restraint. People believe that this is the responsibility of teachers to impart discipline to children. Whereas, others believe that parents should be accountable for teaching discipline to their children. This essay contains both views and opinions which are explained below.

The first mentors of a newborn baby are their parents. Right from talking to walking or learning skills, a child's personality is being developed with all these basics from his or her parents. So technically parents are the first teachers that can be held accountable for the basic discipline in a child’s life. For example, parents help children to rise up early in the morning. They teach them to complete their homework, involve themselves in physical activities, participate in daily house chores, and also sleep at the right time at night. These are the few basic and fundamental steps with the child that can be paved as good habits throughout their life. As a child grows up, the children differ and they tend to decide for themselves.

Parents teach children at their home but when they go out this role is played by the teachers. At schools or higher institutions, this course of action which can be legal or moral is taught by the teachers. From understanding studies to doing teamwork without creating a mess, following rules, helping each other, and never giving up a few disciplines that are taught in every higher institution. Parents can be biased toward their children but teachers handle every student in an equal way.

Lastly, it is said that it is a legal responsibility to preserve discipline among children, both parents, and teachers. Where one cannot watch over others and can look up to too many youngsters while day paves the way for their goals.

Band 7 IELTS Answer

The presence of discipline drives the perspectives of goals and accomplishments. Schools and Mary educational institutes are facing the problem of keeping their students obedient. People think the teachers must be held accountable and while others think that parents are responsible for teaching discipline. In my opinion, teachers have the responsibility of educating children’s discipline but I firmly believe that parents play a significant role in the same.

It is a general thought by people that teachers are the person who is liable for the correct and developing behavior among students. This is because that student had the tendency of spending certain hours at school listening to the advice of the teachers and following them with respect. Hence the dedicated time is also being utilized for developing model values among people. Schools might include special classes for students to build a strong opinion and confidence among students such as learning mistakes, rectifying them, group work, maintaining time, and looking at the positive aspects of life. Though students have limited hours in school and teachers have already studied to teach them, focusing entirely on building strong character might not be possible.

Other people believe that parents are to be held accountable for their child’s behavior and conduct. The basic reason for being a child is that the child spends most of the time with their parents. They observe their parents, and their activities closely and try to implicate them on their own. So I believe parents are more responsible for good characteristics that a child learns in their life, for example, children can learn to follow a fixed schedule, to be honest, and to be punctual in their daily activities with their parents. Hence discipline can be mended at home as it would be a certain difficult thing for the teachers to do the same.

To conclude, despite various opinions, I firmly believe that parents undoubtedly have a higher role to play in character building and making concrete discipline among their children. Children can learn life lessons mostly from their parents such as vital human qualities to have a healthy and progressive life in the future.

Children are so familiar and loyal to their parents, while when they go to school they are unfamiliar and uncomfortable in various situations. Nowadays schools have been regarded for improper behavior of children. It can be identified and children’s social and moral conduct can be developed through social events and technologies. The most important responsibility of parents in teaching disciplines is to behave correctly as they are role models for their children. Children tend to follow the pathway of their parents or relatives. All the parents have the most amount of time teaching their children discipline, teachers also play a vital role in improving the same. So I believe parents are more responsible for good characteristics that a child learns in their life. For example, children can learn to follow a fixed schedule, to be honest, and to be punctual in their daily activities with their parents. Hence discipline can be mended at home as it would be a certain difficult thing for the teachers to do the same.
