Diagram Shows City Park Before And After a Swimming Pool Was Constructed IELTS Academic Writing Task 1

Figure 1 shows the location of City Park, which was a rectangular space with entrance via Park Road upon that south side. In the southeast corner, there was a parking garage with eight spaces and a separate, little entrance.

A parking lot and the park's northwest corner both had two basketball courts, 1 and 2. Towards the right of Park Road, in the southeast corner, an additional parking garage with eight spaces. A little gate on the lot's north side led to a fountain that was located on the south side of a reasonably sizable garden.

After a pool was constructed, the city park underwent significant change. Basketball court 1 remained at the northwest corner of the park, and the same Parking garage Road stayed on the south-west side.

The second parking lot, which had six spaces and a new entry from Park Road, had taken the position of basketball court 2, which had been removed. A large swimming pool was built in which the old parking lot once stood, expanding the original space by compromising the fountain. Because of this, even though the garden was in the same spot, it became smaller without the fountain.

Things all along the road appeared very different after the makeover. Where the parking garage, the fountain, and a portion of the garden had stood, the swimming pool is now. The parking lot across the street from the garden was relocated to make room for a basketball court.There is a huge parking area instead of basketball court 2. There might be several reasons for this. There is a possibility that not many people come to play basketball that's why it is replaced with a useful area for parking.

Before the construction work there was a fountain within the garden. It appeared like a beautiful scene. But after the construction work there is no fountain. The fountain has been discarded. While the garden remains the same position.

The entrance to the city park remains unchanged. The construction of a pool in the parking area before construction. There is a huge pool built and parking has been changed. While it may be observed there are 2 parking areas. This also ensures proper parking of vehicles.

The park road is reached from the entrance. There was initially a parking lot on the right hand side of the park road. Now that the parking lot has been transformed into a swimming pool, the area where the fountain once stood takes up more space than the parking lot. As a result, the fountain had to be destroyed during the repairs, considerably reducing the garden's area.

On the opposite side of the park road, across from the garden, there were two basketball courts, 1 and 2, that were next to one another. The second basketball court has been converted into a new parking lot, with access for cars from the park roadside. In order to provide some room for parking cars.

Thus, the city park had certain changes as a result of the swimming pool's construction. However, the parking area to the left of the entrance and court 1 for basketball are both still present.

There was already a fountain in the garden prior to the construction. It seemed to be a lovely scene. But there is no fountain now that the construction is complete. The fountain was thrown away. The garden, however, is at the same location. The city park's entrance stays the same.
