Well, unlike most of the people, I am not a big fan of cakes, actually, I do not have a sweet tooth. But I definitely like to eat cakes, just one slice, occasionally. I am very conscious about my health and eating cake makes me feel that I would get obese. Moreover, the high sugar intake may result in diabetes, and sugar consumption is one of the major culprits of deteriorating health nationwide. I surely do know how to bake a cake, I know I said I don’t like eating them, but I absolutely love cooking, and baking cakes is one of the things I love to make. It is a very tedious process but I find it relieving and relaxing. One of the major tricks to make a spongy cake is to whisk the egg whites by separating the egg yolk and adding two teaspoons of lemon juice for a 500-gm cake accompanied by baking it in a water bath in a preheated oven. Moreover, I constantly keep looking for new recipes to improve myself. I usually bake a chocolate cake, since I prefer chocolate cake over other cakes.

5. What desserts do Indians like?
India is a country whose indigenous and native dessert is not cake. We have a history of sweets like laddoos, gulab jamun, ras malai, ras Gulla, modak, kalakand, jalebi, malpuas, etc. Every state in India has its own cultural and ethnic sweets like Maharashtra is famous for its modaks, malpuas, puran poli, Punjab and northern India is famous for its laddoos, barfi, soan papdi, Bengal has its lancha, Sandesh, rasgulla, etc. But with modernization and westernization, we have adapted to eating cakes on several occasions too, like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Hence, I would say in general Indians love desserts may it be laddoos or cakes.
