Model Answer 1

How large is it?

Any student's life revolves around their study space. They serve as the setting where we learn and ultimately accomplish our objectives. Up to the time my sister moved to a different city for her studies, I had never had a private study room. We both used to eat at the same table when we were young. I would sit on one side while she sat on the other, and we would argue nonstop.

How much time do you spend there every day?

The scenario frequently required our mother to step in and make things better. The home was quiet when she departed, and I was the only person using the table and the rotating chair. That made me feel so joyful. Small bed, bookshelf, table, chair, and light were all in my study room. It came with a bathroom that was attached. I recall that I would enter the room at 8 am the day of my board exam and would only exit when dinner was ready at night.

What things this room has to?

I decided to change the look of the room after the exam and painted it in orange and peach tones. The walls used to be an off-white colour, which I found to be lifeless. Additionally, I was haunted in that room by recollections of studying for the board exam. So I made the decision to renovate the space.

A collage of my sister and I was constructed and placed on one side of the wall after I turned on some LED lights and added it. It is appealing now on a visual level. My sister was shocked to see how the room had altered when she last came to visit us. Since the room was now exclusively mine, I made a joke about it. I have added a lot of books to my bookshelves because I enjoy reading. My father frequently buys me new books, which I organise alphabetically on the bookcase after reading so that it's simple to find anything. I think I can now claim to have a small library in my home after some time has passed. I adore being in that space. Because I put my phone in a different room before going into my study place, it helps me stay focused and prevents me from wasting time on social media.

How large is it?

I have grown up in a nuclear family. It consisted of my parents and my younger brother. I was given a separate room for studying as my brother was too young and would just sit for a little while with our mother to do his homework. She would keep him away from me as he would constantly distract me especially when he saw that I was trying to study sincerely.

How much time do you spend there every day?

He was an evil child like that. My study space was the only peaceful place in the whole house where he was not allowed. The more he grew up, the more I found myself locked in the study space. My study room had a table and the most comfortable chair on this Earth. I loved sitting on that. It was a revolving chair with wheels.

What things this room has to?

My father gifted me that table and chair on my seventh birthday. I was so happy to just sit and revolve around and round on that chair. My father later also added a bookshelf and filled it with some books and comics which I would enjoy reading. Every month, he would buy a tinkle and keep adding it to the shelf. He also bought non-fiction books based on the life of great people like Vivekananda, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, and APJ Abdul Kalam.

Often when I would get exhausted by academic studying, I would seek solace in those books. I can certainly say that my father is the reason that I developed so much interest in reading. He also bought frames with motivational quotes written on them and I hung them right in front of my table so that whenever I felt low, I could be stimulated to continue working hard toward my goal. On the table, I organised my important stationery items like files, pens, and paintbrushes so that I didn’t need to waste time searching for them often. The room had a wall clock and I remember I would always hear it ticking it felt that time was running out and I must work doubly hard if I wanted to excel in life. The time I spent in that room lives rent-free in my head as I know how hard I worked right from school to college. I am grateful that my father ensured that I get the right ambiance to focus on my studies so that I can become successful in life.

Model Answer 3

How large is it?

Getting a study room was always a dream for me as I lived in a joint family. All the cousins would sit together to study in one room but I cannot call that a study room as when a lot of guests would visit us, it would automatically become everyone’s room. It was not until I moved out of that house and shifted to a new city, Delhi to prepare for competitive exams that I have a personal study room.

How much time do you spend there every day?

I live in a 3BHK Apartment which is shared by two other students. Each one of us has occupied one room and the room that I have is a big room that accommodates a single bed, a recliner, a table, a chair, a bookshelf, and a table lamp. Since we all are preparing for exams, we spend most of our time in our respective rooms and no noise could be heard. When we have time to enjoy, chit-chat, or watch a movie, we meet in the living room and enjoy ourselves.

What things this room has to?

This set-up is useful for us as we all have our personal space and our rooms are our library where we study and learn. On the table, I have kept a family photo frame as I miss them here. I often talk to them when I get free from my studies. I have bought a lot of competitive books on the bookshelf and often I lend them to my flatmates whenever they require it. Since I only have a bookshelf in my room, they also sometimes keep their new purchases on that shelf. I have a laptop on which I watch educational videos and it remains mostly on the table.

Give details about your study room.

It is an old model that doesn’t have a good battery so it anyway doesn’t last long without charge. I have to always keep it near a charging point so that it can run without shutting down and there is a socket behind the table, on the wall which I feel is positioned perfectly so that I can study without worry. I use the bed to nap in between my study sessions but other than at night, I spend most of my hours sitting on a chair. Sometimes I wonder why I even bought a recliner when I had to just shift from bed to chair most of the time.
