Who you communicated with?

I have been studying English for a long time, but I have not had many opportunities to practice speaking English with native speakers. To the best of my recall, I first used it two years ago during the occasion of Durga Puja.

What the situation was?

I was interacting and chatting with my friends at that time. Unexpectedly, a foreigner approached me and requested directions to a nearby grocery. In all honesty, he spoke too quickly for me to keep up. But after he spoke again, I was able to make out what he was saying, and I directed him to the closest supermarket. As my English was not very good at the time, I had to rely heavily on body language to convey the orders to him. He thanked me and left for the grocery store after that.

Even though we don't reside in an English-speaking nation, I am aware that English is vital to our daily lives. It is widely used and is advancing to take the lead. Thus, I have been making an effort to practice speaking English every day. I am doing this so that I can have a solid grasp of the language and communicate with foreigners with confidence about any subject.

Who you communicated with?

Each language has its own significance. Although the language has grown significantly in significance over the previous two to three decades, the language is English. I am trilingual, speaking Bengali, English, and Hindi. When I finally had the chance to converse with some people in English, it provided me with a lot of experience and eliminated my hesitation. I was travelling with a few other folks at the time from India to Memphis.

What the situation was?

I was travelling to Memphis to visit my brother for a few days when we arrived at the Memphis International Airport and were awaiting the boarding time. Unfortunately, we learned that Memphis had been hit by a severe storm and that all flights to Memphis had been canceled. Everyone was corresponding with the airline service, however, my travelling companions had poor English skills.

I informed the personnel of all the information pertaining to myself and my other travellers. I was instructed to return to the desk an hour later. I went back to the desk, but the new staff was there and the entire staff's duties had changed. I reiterate the issue, and ultimately, by God's Grace, I was given the revised flight time. They also gave my fellow travellers and me, some new boarding passes. We eventually got on the aircraft. Everyone was content, and my coworkers all expressed gratitude for my assistance. At the time, I had great joy and satisfaction.

When I was in middle school, I remember the first time I spoke with other people in English.

What the situation was?

My mother learned about an English Corner that was scheduled to take place close to our flat one day with her coworkers. She then encouraged me to go out and practice my English. I actually didn't want to do that. Yet in the end, I pushed myself there since I knew it was a terrific opportunity to interact with foreigners. When I got there, a man approached me and grinned. He began by introducing himself and being amiable. He sounded like a native English speaker, speaking English with ease and fluency.

Needless to say, I was terrified because I knew my English accent, pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary were all terrible. He unexpectedly admitted that English wasn't his first language and asked me to speak up. I spoke to him in my limited English, and he patiently listened to me and complimented my accent, which gave me much more confidence. Despite the fact that we had just recently met, that wonderful man inspired me to study English with devotion and determination. I also learned that you have to be courageous and approach anything if you want to learn something new.
