Why do you need a day off

Since childhood, I have always been interested in using brushes. Probably the love of brushes was the reason that I chose my career path as a makeup artist. I have seen that many websites offer online courses which are of 3-4 hours.

How will you spend the day

On my day off, I would like to enrol in those courses and learn something new about painting. In the morning I would start my day with a cup of home-made iced coffee as I love it. What can be a better way than to begin the day with a refreshing drink. I would also like to listen to some music while preparing my coffee. I even brought a guitar to learn but due to my hectic schedule, I could never learn it. It has always been an on and off relationship with the guitar. Maybe, on my day off, I would spend time learning the basics of the stringed instrument. In the evening, I would like to go out to my favourite street food stall and eat lots of junk food. I feel it's good to treat yourself with such food just so you do not crave for it badly. At night, I would curl up in bed and watch some latest releases on Netflix and enjoy them. It has been so long that I even watched any movies.

We all must take a day off sometimes just for ourselves. We forget to relax and do things that we really love since we are in this mad rat race of making a luxurious living. Mental health must also be given equal importance. If our minds tell us that we need a mini-break from work, we must listen to it.

Why do you need a day off

Due to weary rotational shifts, I do not get time to eat, sleep or workout at a fixed time. In such a case, it becomes essential to have a day off for yourself to invigorate and come back to work as fresh as a daisy.

How will you spend the day

On my day off, I would like to start my day with a cup of coffee and go to the gym to check how well my body can perform with the equipments. Weight training is my favourite gym activity. Since I am fond of eating delicious food, I would like to try my hands on something new by cooking at home. My schedule doesn’t allow me to spend hours in the kitchen appreciating aromas of different food items. I would probably bake a cake as I have long been craving to eat a cake. My younger sister loves chocolate cake and has requested me plenty of time to prepare the same. On my day off, maybe I can surprise her with the same. In the evening, I would like to go to the local market and have my favourite “fruit-chaat”. It is the best in town as the seller adds so many seasonal fruits in it. At night, I would like to completely relax and watch a docuseries on murder mysteries as it is my favourite genre.

Every once in a while, it is always a good idea to take out some time for yourself and relax. A session at the spa can also be added to the list. No matter what we do, we must ensure that once in a week, we are doing the things we really enjoy. This will make us feel pleased and it motivates us to welcome the next day with energy and a smile.

Why do you need a day off

I desperately need a day off from the hassles of occupational engagement. This will free my mind and I will be able to enjoy the day with myself.

How will you spend the day

I have been living in Delhi for three years now. It offers many places for recreation. I have always wanted to explore the unexplored areas of Delhi and one place that often comes to my mind is visiting Old Delhi. It is at the heart of Delhi and offers so many shops ranging from books to clothes to food. Basically everything that one can think of can be found in the busy allies of Old Delhi. Since I work as a sales executive, my phone keeps buzzing even on the day off. It is sometimes frustrating and I really want one day just for myself where my cell phone does not hinder my enjoyment. Even when I visit my friends, they complain about me not being present in the moment. Therefore, I really want to get completely engrossed in the melody of the city. I want to enjoy the very famous kulfi faluda and Daulat ki Chaat as I have heard a lot about it.

I will be able to execute my plan only when I get a day off and I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully, in the coming week I will take a day off and do everything I have spoken about here.
