Model Answer 1

What it is?

Typically, I send things that are quite important. I make an effort to refrain from overspending on unnecessary stuff. But lately, I've noticed that I spend more money than I intended to. The bridegroom was my cousin's sister. I went to the shop to get some name-brand clothes so I could look my best. Thanks to a range of excellent clothing items I found, I was able to look chic and fashionable. I love gaining the attention of the audience. And the functions such as weddings are my favorite. I want to look perfect. Though I believe outer beauty doesn't matter, it makes me happy. It is the way I love myself even more.

How much did you spend on it?

My lehenga of choice was out of my price range. It cost me 20,000 INR. However, the salesman showed me a few lehengas that were out of my price range. But the lehenga has me pondering. I felt trapped by this. For the lehenga, I also bought a purse and a pair of pumps. The whole cost was around 25,000 Indian rupees. This was much more than my real budgeted amount. I felt a little regretful at first but then it was for my own happiness. I always try to make myself happy and do something for myself. So, i wanted it and bought it.

Why you bought it?

The bridegroom was my cousin's sister. I aspired to appear my best. I bought a lehenga, heels, and purse. I was ultimately ready for this wedding. One of my friends commented that this outfit is missing some embellishments. I need to wear some exquisite jewelry in order to appear more refined and stylish. I had to spend a few thousand rupees more to buy all of these things. I loved my whole look. I was very happy from the inside. It was visible in my smile how happy I was just because I felt myself.

Explain why you think you spent more than expected?

After all, it was my sister's wedding. That was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nevertheless, I went over my spending limit. I received a ton of compliments from my relatives and friends at the wedding. I was of the opinion that the expense was justified.

Model Answer 2

What it is?

Being from the middle class I have always spent on things that were on my budget. Buying online window shopping has made things different. I usually buy things online and make pay delivery charges at the end of the month by using my credit card. Last week I went to a birthday party at my friend's place. I saw a dining table which was very elegant. Later that evening I saw the same dining table on our online portal.

How much did you spend on it?

I was so taken aback and ordered the item because I felt it would be very suitable for the interior of my house. Also the old dining table was not in good condition hence I made the purchase. The purchase was around INR.20,000 which was above my budget.

Why you bought it?

Though the table was for INR 20,000, the expensive item was so soothing to the eyes that I had to buy it. I also made extra charges to get the delivery soonest. Hence the total amount increased.

And explain why you think you spent more than expected.

I do not regret this purchase as when I saw the table as it arrived it was more beautiful than on the website. My family members were also happy with the product. Hence I was extremely satisfied with the product I thought, though I had to spend more than expected.

Model Answer 3

What it is?

My old phone broke down recently. I had to buy a new phone. I was going through the online portals to find a new phone which suits my budget. I came across the Apple iPhone as it met all the requirements that I wanted except the budget. I have considered other phones but this attracted me the most.

How much did you spend on it?

The iPhone has some brand name and most of my four friends use this phone. The phone cost me around INR 70,000, which was way costlier than the earlier phones. As it is for the brand name which makes the product expensive.

Why you bought it?

I decided to buy it rather than buy a cheap one and change it again. The price was very high and I did not want to make an impulsive decision as I have a few regular apps that are required on a daily basis so I thought of buying it later but then again I thought I should buy it and pay the money in installments hence I ordered the item and made it on EMI through EMIs. So that at least I can use the phone while paying with the EMI.

And explain why you think you spent more than expected.

I am extremely happy when I receive the phone. It is very smooth and easy to use. The phone looks attractive and I felt the money I spent on it was worth it.
