Model Answer 1

What was it?

If I had to talk about an interesting story that I read it would be the play by William Shakespeare. Literature has always fascinated me. It has been my favourite subject since school days and since then I often indulge myself in different literacy works. I read the play Julius Caesar in my tenth standard. I loved the Shakespearean style of storytelling.

When did you read or hear it?

The character and the plot had so much mystery and intrigue that it was difficult to not love his plays. The best part was that our literature teacher taught the play enthusiastically. She explained the depth of every character and streamlined the play’s plot for us. To learn about Caesar’s personality, his betrayal by his friend brutus, and the constancy versus inconstancy, the theme of the plot is a major takeaway. It is what struck me the most.

From whom/ where you learned it?

The play depicts the fall of a famous general of Rome who was instrumental in creating the Roman Empire. Brutus' loyalty to Rome is also worthwhile. He is loyal to the extent that he even agrees to kill his friend Caesar. The play also depicts how quickly the mob or the people of Rome were swayed by speeches. This was another constant of the play. It has been more than fifteen years since I had read this play, but it is still imprinted in my head. My English teacher was remarkable and taught the play thoroughly, which is why I can still recall it vividly.

Model Answer 2

What was it?

There are different stories, facts or articles that I come across everyday as I am bibliophile. I love reading books of different genres as they take me to a whole different world. I also love interesting stories from people. Recently , a friend of mine told the story of the Drinkable book. The title itself sounds interesting and it immediately caught my attention. My friend told me that she had recently been reading about the latest sci-tech article when she came across this article on one of the popular websites.

When did you read or hear it?

It was called the drinkable book which was designed by WaterLife. The pages of the book were coated with nano particles that could absorb approximately 99 percent of bacteria including E coli, typhoid and cholera. So there were two benefits of this book, it can be used to read and be used as filters. I thought it was an interesting discovery as it could solve the problem of millions of people that are suffering from diseases by consuming unclean water. My friend also told me that WaterLife had been testing the drinkable book in South Africa. They had circulated the book in the rural areas and had gotten positive results.

From whom/ where you learned it?

Additionally, one paper of the book can provide upto 1000 litres of clean water for a single person. I think it was an interesting piece of information as this scientific discovery would be for a good cause. It would help a million people out there that are at the brunt of facing issues due unclean drinkable water.

Model Answer 3

What was it?

I am glad that I will be talking about this topic today. A year ago I read a story about a thirteen year old girl who saved a young guy from dying of an electric shock. I came across this story in the daily newspaper. The newspaper had a separate section for such interesting stories of bravery, philanthropy, and so on. The story of this thirteen year old inspired me to be more vigilant like her.

When did you read or hear it?

This thirteen year old was waiting at a bus station for her school bus. A man standing beside her was talking on the phone. He was quite restless at first, later got angry and hung up the phone. This man is standing beside an electricity pole. He again got a call and while talking he kept his hand on the pole. His body started shaking and getting jerks. A few seconds later he fell down. The girl next to him saw him and immediately rushed across the road to get a wood piece. She then hit the man’s arm with this wooden piece so that she could save him from the electric shock. Her immediate act saved the guy.

From whom/ where you learned it?

He was shocked, perplexed and was immediately rushed to the hospital. I was amazed by the girl’s quick decision making. There were other people as well that were there at the bus station, however, she was the only one who acted quickly. She managed to save the life of this young guy, who would have otherwise died because of the shock. It was an interesting story about bravery and vigilance that I loved reading about.
