Topic: Describe an interesting conversation you had with someone you did not know.
You should say:
Answer 1:
who the person was?
One of the most interesting conversations that I had with a stranger was during a train journey to a distant city. This person was a middle-aged individual sitting in the opposite seat to mine. Neither of us had a prior relationship, but since the train journey was of almost eight hours, talking to each other was inevitable.
where the conversation took place?
This conversation happened inside the train compartment. It was late at night. To start with, we greeted one another. We discussed the delayed arrival of the train. However, the conversation became quite intriguing. He informed me that he was a civil engineer. He used to travel from time to time for different assignments around the country. I introduced myself. I described why I had come.
what you talked about?
Next, we started speaking about the changes happening in cities, especially with regard to the development of metro rails, flyovers, and smart cities. We listened to his explanation on how urban planning occurs in the background, with challenges that engineers experience, including the acquisition of land, environmental issues, and so on. I thought this was really interesting, especially since I learned something new on this aspect for the first time in my life.
and explain why you found the conversation interesting?
However, what made this conversation interesting was the fact that he spoke extensivel. It was good to engage in such an open discussion even when we are strangers. This helped me learn new things and realize how valuable an experience it is when we learn from unexpected people. The experience made the long journey enjoyable. That is why I can recall this incident.
Answer 2:
who the person was?
One of the most fascinating conversations I had with a stranger was in a small café near my office. The person was a young woman who was seated in the next table, working on her laptop computer. We began our conversation when she inquired from me whether their Wi-Fi connection was in order.
where the conversation took place?
This conversation took place on a quiet afternoon of the week. After helping her out, I think we started conversing about the café, the coffee, and the area. However, the conversation soon turned to what we do for a living. She was a freelance graphic designer and performed her work from her remote office for international clientele.
what you talked about?
We talked about the pros and cons of telecommuting and how she overcame such issues as isolation. She talked about her experience working from different locations around the world and how she managed clients from different time zones. It was quite motivational to learn how she has modeled her lifestyle around her work. We talked about creativity and burnout and the need to take breaks.
and explain why you found the conversation interesting?
This conversation was of great interest to me because it was unexpected yet motivating. It broadened my perspectives to a new way of living. Discussing with a person other than my friends provided me with new ideas and momentum. Though we had a thirty-minute conversation, it had significant value to me and made a positive impact on me.
Answer 3:
who the person was?
One fascinating discussion I would like to describe in detail is the one I had with a stranger that involved a foreign tourist whom I met while visiting a famous monument in our country. The stranger was a male from Europe, traveling alone.
where the conversation took place?
The talk of the day occurred around the entrance of the monument where we were waiting in a line. He asked me the way to the place, and of course, it led us to have a longer conversation about the monument, the traditions around the place, and other sites worth going to.
what you talked about?
He explained his experiences of moving around different regions of India and compared them with his native country. I educated him about some of the culture, cuisine, and festivals of my country, and he was very interested in learning about them. In return, he told me about life in the European continent, with a focus on the European culture of being punctual and respecting space.
and explain why you found the conversation interesting?
I found this conversation fascinating since it was an interaction that involved cultural exchange. Talking to someone who belonged to such a different background opened my eyes to viewing my own culture from another perspective. It was quite easy for us to bond without having known each other previously. This friendly, enlightening, and memorable conversation made the visit even more enjoyable for both of us.
