Mobile phones have become an integral part of our daily life. Despite the fact that we utilise several applications on our phones, calling and texting are the two most commonly used functionalities. Today I'll tell you about a time when I received excellent news through text message. It came from a cousin in Australia, Preeti. She is five years old.

She was older than me, but we used to play a lot as kids, and I always looked up to her. She left for Australia while I was still in school.

We didn't have cell phones back then. We used to communicate via phone calls and letters. We later obtained phones and now we chat or video call each other. I woke up in May of last year and checked my phone.

What the news was about?

I received a text message notification from Preeti. It was a short, basic message about her landing her dream job at one of Sydney's best hospitals. But I could practically feel her joy as I read it.
