When it happened?
Let me tell you about an incident when my friends got into an unnecessary argument while working on a group project. Actually, when I was in class tenth, my friends and I got an assessment project as a part of the summer homework. Well it is common that two people will argue when their thoughts or opinions don't match. People always have debates over small issues.
What it was about?
There were four people in the group and we had one week left to finish the assignment. We had to make a working model for demonstration, an analytical report, and a presentation for the project. It seemed difficult to complete in one week. Rather than distributing the workload equally among teams, two members of our team started arguing with each other. They were arguing over each other’s ideas and the choice of topic for the project. Both of them thought their idea was the best. After some time they started blaming each other for being in the same team. Their argument was purely irrelevant. Soon they started fighting and it was horrible to watch.
How it was solved?
Immediately I intervened in the fight and tried to stop them. They were mad at each other and weren’t even listening to others. After a lot of effort, we managed to stop them. I told them that if we started fighting like this then the work would never be completed. They were not agreeing to each other’s ideas, therefore we decided to dump ideas of both of them. We went out to eat something and make things calm.
How you felt about it?
After lunch when both of them were calm, we asked both of them to feel sorry for each other and start the project work which was our main focus. It took time for them but in the end, both of them asked for each other’s forgiveness and later we completed the project work successfully. Though these kinds of situations are common in life, most of us are not prepared to handle them well. It is always better to handle things calmly and not by aggression. At least it worked out for me.

When it happened?
Today I would like to talk about a time when two of my friends were arguing with each other.
It happened some four years ago when I was in twelfth. My stream for higher schooling was science. Every day, in the chemistry lab we did different experiments which were well explained by the teacher. Arguments are very common and an important aspect of life. It helps to clear our heads and get answers to questions we don't know.
What it was about?
Two of my friends were very much interested in chemistry labs and were always excited about experiments. They always tried to do the experiment in different ways.
They usually learned about the experiment, a day before the lab. The teacher was seeing their enthusiasm for chemistry. One day she declared a competition between them. She asked them to make her soap as fast as possible. The teacher thought both of them would use the same laboratory method to prepare soap but none of them used that process. Instead, they used their own method which they learned from the internet. When they were complete the teacher asked both of them to explain their process. Both the processes were right but both of them thought that only their method was right. They started explaining to the teacher why only their method is correct. They had this argument for more than 10 minutes. None of them wanted to lose and therefore both of them tried to accuse the other of using the wrong method.
How it was solved?
The teacher became angry and warned both of them to stop making irrelevant arguments and focus on their work. The teacher announced both of them as the winner. Because both of them had made the soap in about one hour.
How you felt about it?
I was worried that this argument would affect their friendship and enthusiasm for chemistry. In the end I was happy that both of them were declared winners. Both of them realised later that they were arguing over the wrong topic. One could use any method suitable to make soap. Without knowing the result one cannot blame others for using the wrong method.

When it happened?
Last month, two of my friends and I planned to watch a movie at a nearby mall. It has been a long time since we met each other. After watching the movie we went for dinner. After dinner we started talking about our lives. Arguments are an important part of our life. They teach us new things. But be it elders, youngsters, children, everyone desires to win the argument. Here I would like to talk about my two friends who argued with each other.
What it was about?
One of my friends, Ramesh started talking about his opinions on married life. He said that arranged marriage is the reason people don’t live happily. “People deserve to marry someone they love and with whom they want to spend their lives” , he added. But on the other hand, my other friend was against the notion of love marriage. She said that a love marriage needs as much work as an arranged marriage. Couples can’t blame their parents if their marriage wasn’t a success. After some time both of them got heated in the argument. Both of them were filled with anger because of the disagreement of thoughts.
How it was solved?
I didn’t want our reunion to end with a fight, so I tried to handle the situation myself. I told them that no one needs to agree with each other’s opinions. Everyone is right in their own place. It is normal to think differently than others and live differently than others.
How you felt about it?
They understood my words and apologised to each other. We all hugged each other and enjoyed the time we had. So this was when two of my friends had an argument.
