What do you do?

Most of us engage in a variety of activities on a regular basis. I am someone who believes that being mentally fit is a requirement. We frequently put more emphasis on physical fitness than on our mental wellness. I did the same, however recently I had some mental health problems. It helped me realise that maintaining our mental health is crucial for finding happiness in life. Journaling is a pastime of mine that has to do with maintaining my mental wellness.

Where do you do it?

Since I began this activity one month ago, I have seen changes in my day-to-day activities. Writing your feelings, expressions, and motivations down in a journal is one way to do this. Everybody keeps a notebook in a different way; some people do it to keep themselves motivated. Others use writing to express what's bothering them.

When do you do it?

I prefer to write in my journal after the end of each day. It helps me recollect my thoughts of what I did my entire day and enjoy myself more. Also it helps me to be able to accept my emotions and to just write them out. It makes me love myself more and to accept my flaws too. If someday I feel bad after writing it down it just makes me feel good especially when one doesn't have someone to talk to.

Who do you do it with?

I journal down both about my feelings, and also the goals I have for the day. I feel the best time for journaling is right after waking up. Journaling helps you keep a track of your thoughts, and doesn’t let you make any whimsical decisions. I prefer journaling in my favourite diary, it gives me a feeling of accomplishment when I tick them off after completing the task.

Explain why you like doing this activity?

Most therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists ask every person to start journaling in order to have a clear mind. People get a clear picture of their plans. I like the activity of journaling, as it has helped me recover mentally.

What do you do?

The ability to set aside time for a hobby or interest has mostly disappeared in modern society. People entirely forget to participate in something they enjoy because they are so busy with job, school, and domestic duties. Therefore, my favourite leisure activity is dancing.

Where do you do it?

I was one of those people who divided her time between work at the office and work at home the majority of the time. However, I do attempt to do one thing—dance—to keep myself happy. I practise dancing in a room of my own that is large enough for me to do so.

When do you do it?

In high school and college, I used to dance. However, after starting work, I was unable to maintain a healthy work-life balance for almost a year. But two months ago, over the course of a weekend, I discovered a few of my dancing films from a previous inter-college competition.

Who do you do it with?

I used to dance with some of my closest friends from school who were also my dance partners. We used to perform in school together and even won prizes during competitions.

Why do you like doing this activity?

I realised how much I miss doing it, and I had to make time to practice it anyhow. I enrolled in an online dance class and opted for the weekend classes. The moment I started with the classes, I realised what I was missing out on. The initial days were a bit tough to catch up with. But I gradually got back my zeal, and it’s been two months that I am back dancing. In fact, I have never missed a class. This is an activity that always makes me happy. I am glad that I motivate myself to start dancing again. I am going to continue this activity, as I really like doing it.

I don't just dance to music but I just dance without music. I just let my body flow in the earthly music we hear every moment but don't realise it. I move in whichever way possible. To let my soul sway.

What do you do?

I'll describe myself as a compulsive worker. I make an effort to complete all of the tasks on that particular day. I feel a little uneasy when I see unfinished work. I've had to put in roughly 12 to 13 hours a day because of this. I was unable to take some time to unwind and recuperate. This went on for a while before I finally realised I needed to alter my way of living. I resumed my previous practise of reading the books that kept me company while I was in high school and college. I read a lot back then.

Where do you do it?

I made it a point to incorporate reading into my daily routine. After waking up every day, I made it a point to read at least ten pages. There are numerous advantages to reading. It also helps people relax, learn more about a particular subject, sharpen their concentration, and other things.

Where did you do it?

I read books mainly because of their healing power. It magically improves my mood, and I feel less stressed out. In fact, I have started reading books even after returning from work. My favourite genres of books are non-fiction. I am currently reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. This is a very powerful book that helps me gain mental strength.I used to sit in my own room or in the public library to read the books.

Who did you do it with?

Most of the time, I did reading on my own and alone. It makes me stress free and relaxed when I start reading. It takes my mind off every kind of issue or difficulty and I enter a different world.

Why do you like doing it?

I will be starting with a new book very soon. I am quite surprised to see that I still have the pace to complete a book within a few week’s time. I am glad that I started reading again, and it is an activity I really like doing. I like reading books because it makes me step into someone else's world which gives me peace.
