Topic: Describe a Water Sport You Would Like to Try in the Future Cue Card

You should say:

  • What is it?
  • Where you will do it?
  • Whether it is easy or difficult?
  • And explain why would you like to try it.

Answer 1:

What is it?

Scuba diving has been on my wish list for some time now. It is just something about the idea of exploring the world beneath the waves-breathing through that gear, swimming alongside fish, getting up close to coral-really speaks to me.

Where you will do it?

If I get the chance, I’d love to try it in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. I’ve heard the water there is incredibly clear, the reefs are full of life, and the instructors actually know what they’re doing. People keep saying it’s one of the best spots in India, especially if you’re new to diving, and that makes it sound a lot less intimidating.

Whether it is easy or difficult?

I do know it's not easy to scuba dive, especially for a beginner. Breathing in water, understanding how to move without looking like one flails about, pressure changes-the list goes on and on. However, word has it that good training and clear instructions make all the difference. Provided you listen and stay with the pros, you are good to go.

And explain why would you like to try it?

Honestly, it’s the experience I’m after. Drifting underwater, seeing all those bright fish and wild corals float by, and just getting away from all the noise above—it sounds both peaceful and kind of thrilling. Plus, I’ve always had a bit of a fear of deep water, so facing that head-on would be a win for me. For me, scuba diving isn’t just about chasing adventure. It’s about seeing nature at its rawest, learning something new, and maybe coming out a little braver on the other side.

Answer 2:

What is it?

Surfing’s been on my bucket list for a while. There’s just something about catching waves on a surfboard—balancing, reacting fast, using your strength—that looks insanely fun. Watching pros glide over the water, making it look effortless, just adds to the appeal.

Where you will do it?

If I get the chance, I want to give it a shot in Goa. The beaches there are famous, and they’ve got plenty of beginner lessons. Plus, the whole vibe—laid-back, with a gorgeous coastline—makes it the perfect spot to learn. I can already picture myself surrounded by the sea, soaking in the atmosphere.

Whether it is easy or difficult?

Honestly, I know surfing isn't easy. Standing up on a moving board while the waves keep on coming? That's tough. Beginners wipe out a lot. You fall, you get back up, and it can get pretty exhausting. But the idea of slowly getting better, actually riding a wave after all that effort, sounds amazing.

And explain why would you like to try it?

More than anything, though, I want to try surfing because it isn't just an exercise-it's actually fun. It's a challenge both physically and mentally. There's this rush when you finally stand up on the board, even if it's just for a moment. And being out there, so close to the ocean, seems like the perfect way to shake off stress. That's what draws me to it.

Answer 3:

What is it?

I have always wanted to try kayaking. There's something about gliding across the water in a small boat, just you and the paddle, that feels both peaceful and a little bit daring. You don't have to be super strong to do it, either. That's part of the appeal.

Where you will do it?

If I get an opportunity, I would love to kayak through the backwaters of Kerala. Those narrow canals, all that green everywhere-it just looks so calm and beautiful. Drifting along in that setting would be such a break from the usual noise and rush.

Whether it is easy or difficult?

I have been told that kayaking is an easy sport to learn: a few speedy instructions and a little practice, and you can hit the waters. Yes, paddling at rough waters or at sea must be tough, but backwaters are gentle and exactly the place for beginners.

And explain why would you like to try it?

It's just that combination of adventure with relaxation. You can get into nature and do some exercise without even realizing it while unplugging for the most part. It is also a very safe way of becoming confident in water sports. I think I'd really enjoy it.
