Model Answer 1

What was the volunteer work?

I was born and raised in Assam, where I have seen a lot of rain and floods in different parts of the state. While we long for summer rains, those who are less fortunate must endure great agony and endure loss. The majority of people in Assam's lower regions rely on the agriculture industry for their daily income. However, I have witnessed individuals becoming homeless and their farms being washed away as a result of the excessive rain. So, ever since I was a little kid, I've wanted to help these folks get over these difficult times and return to their regular lives as soon as possible.

Where was it?

Luckily, I and my friends were finally able to join a group that took the initiative to help these people at the worst moments. Last year between the months of May to August, the entire world was already suffering from complete lockdown. Meanwhile, several places in Assam were drastically affected by huge floods. People had to move out of their homes and live under tents for months before life got back to normal. Farmers had to suffer the most since all their crops got washed away in the flood.

Why did you Volunteer?

At that time, we volunteered to help those in need. We went from place to place, analyzing the situation of the places and the people. We came up with needful goods such as food items, blankets, tents, and other stuff to provide to these people. The best part of this journey was when we received fundings from the public to provide all sorts of necessities to the needy and give them relief. We asked for donations through our social media channels, and it was really surprising for us to receive such a good response from the people. It was due to them that we were able to reach out to more people and help them with everything we could.

What was the volunteer work?

In our nation today, child labour is a serious problem. To provide for themselves and their families, children might be seen working in a variety of professions. I always felt compelled to do something to assist children I saw labouring on the side of the road in India so that we might abolish child labour there. And education is the only thing that can help us accomplish that.

Where was it?

Surely, child labor is a result of the increasing poverty in our country, and only through providing proper education to children, we can overcome this situation. And with that thought in my mind, I finally joined an NGO that aims to educate poor children and shape their future. I worked as a volunteer under the organization for almost two years and had exceptional experiences within the time period.

Why did you volunteer?

We worked in a team and went to different places every weekend. We used to set up an open school for the children and come up with fun ways to teach them so that they can enjoy learning as well. The children seemed to be very passionate about learning. They were very attentive, and it was also a great time for us to teach them. We also had several games and offered prizes to the winners after finishing off our classes. I made some of the best memories to cherish in those two years of my life. What's more important is it made me realize that helping others gives us a different kind of peace that we might never achieve by doing something for ourselves.

Model Answer 3

What volunteer work was it?

Since the pandemic's start, the year 2020 has been an absolute catastrophe for the whole planet. The world fell into lockdown as the number of coronavirus cases exploded. People had to suffer in many different ways, including financially, physically, and in other ways, even though this offered them the opportunity to spend the entire time with their family. Due to their lack of employment opportunities, members of the lower classes were forced to suffer the most.

Where was it?

Keeping that in mind, I decided to volunteer on a small team formed by the youths from our locality. They took the initiative to ask people for donations to help the poor. We went from door to door and asked our neighbors and relatives to make small contributions with which we can help the needful ones in every possible way. We gathered the total amount and divided it to buy food items and other daily life requirements. After we were done purchasing, we divided all the things equally into packets and distributed them among the poor people.

Why did you volunteer?

We visited different places and distributed some food items, along with cash, for an emergency. Based on the amount we collected in total, we tried our best to make the most efficient use of the money and help as many people as possible. Later, we also took a part of our pocket money to feed the street animals as well. We bought some regular food items and distributed them among the street dogs and cats. The way all the people and those innocent creatures looked at us felt like a blessing. I felt bliss in my heart and this volunteering work somewhere triggered me to help more people at their worst times.
