Topic:  An outfit provides a sense of belonging and representation of an institution to which a person belongs. An outfit can be related to a school, college, or workplace. The following points can be included when describing the uniform:

  • When or how often do you wear it?
  • Who bought the outfit for you?

  • How do you feel about the uniform?

When or how often do you wear it?

If you work at a firm or are affiliated with any institution, such as a school or college, I believe that your attire is an important factor. It gives the individual identity while also establishing discipline and giving a formal touch. I don't have to wear a uniform right now because I finished school.

Who bought the outfit for you?

However, I can still vividly recall wearing my school uniform since it still makes me glad to think about it because it is associated with many wonderful memories. I recall that when I entered the fifth grade, my father purchased me the attire. I was glad to wear it on the first day of class, and seeing everyone else wearing it gave me a boost of confidence.

What does the outfit look like?

The standard outfit consisted of a white and blue checked shirt, blue pants, and a belt. The PT uniform consisted of a white collared t-shirt and white pants. Mine was red because that was the colour of the classroom we were in when the collars were made. The winter uniform consisted of a blue shirt, blue pants, a belt, a blue and white striped tie, a grey hoodie, and a navy blue blazer.

How do you feel about the uniform?

I felt quite secure and at ease in my attire. Because the jacket made me feel so good when I wore it, I preferred the winter uniform over the summer one.

When or how often do you wear it?

Uniform refers to distinctive members of a particular group as a means of identification. Several education institutes, offices, and organizations maintain a dress code of their own which is to be worn by their employees or students.

Who bought the outfit for you?
From Kindergarten to grade twelfth, I wore a red skirt with a shirt that had our school’s logo on its pocket. Also, I used to wear a red-colored belt that had another school’s logo on its buckle.

What does the outfit look like?

The socks used to be a white color with two blue stripes on the top. The shoes we wore to school were quite boring, which were buckled black-colored leather shoes. The sweaters, jerseys, and overcoats used to be red in color embroidered with the school’s logo. On Fridays, we had to wear white skirts, a red t-shirt, and white shoes.

How do you feel about the uniform?

All the girls used to braid their hair with red ribbons in summer, and white ribbons on Saturdays. Everyone enjoyed wearing uniforms at school. I truly believe that it’s a good idea to wear a uniform to school as it brings a sense of discipline and a feeling of equality among all the students.

When or how often do you wear it?

When I was in school I wanted to get rid of the uniform. But after I passed out of school I never thought that I would miss it one day. In college there was no uniform, everyone dressed so casually. One thing worth mentioning is that I never changed schools.

Who bought the outfit for you?
So, from the prep section to the 12th standard, I was stuck to one. I vividly remember the one-piece dress, sky blue in color, when I joined the school as a nursery student. This knee-length dress had white stripes and the school’s patch on the left-side pocket. My mother had purchased that dress for me.

What does the outfit look like?

When I reached the 1st standard, it changed to a blue shirt with white stripes and a blue knee-length skirt. During summers, the color changed to white for the shirt and grey for the skirt.

How do you feel about the uniform?
From 9th - 12th, I wore a dupatta suit, wherein the white-colored suit was knee-length along with blue salwar and dupatta. Now that I miss the time spent in school. I long to have a few moments to be relieved. But, we have come a long way. And there seems to be no going back.
