Describe a Transportation Problem in Your City or Town Cue Card

What the causes of this problem are?

These autorickshaws hardly follow the traffic rules and ride at high speed. Furthermore, the congestion caused by the public buses in which people travel to work and from one place to another within the city is highly congested during peak hours. The buses do not consider limited passengers based on the number of seats. The situation becomes worse when these auto-rickshaws in the street move from one side of the street to another without even considering the presence of other people crossing roads.

How it affects you?

Moreover, with a large number of people traveling in their personal vehicles and availing public transport, traffic congestion has increased with less effective traffic rules on the streets. These issues are high in the city I live in, in terms of transportation. This significantly affects me because I am scared of crossing busy roads. Further, if public transport vehicles do not obey the traffic rules, it scares me more because I am in constant fear of meeting with an accident.

What the causes of this problem are?

However, the issue with transportation and traffic congestion is mainly caused by the inefficiency of the traffic management to control and manage the crowd. Moreover, I find the reason to be also the people traveling on-road and driving their vehicles, whether the personal vehicle or public transport who try to overtake one another.

How it affects you?

This is a serious problem which makes congestion worse. Ineffective ways of managing the traffic have resulted in these situations thereby affecting people’s lives and resulting in numerous accidents. I have been almost hit by a car because of its act of overtaking another car in the midst of traffic congestion making the situation worse. Further, the driver tended to blame me for trying to hinder his act of overtaking rather than doing otherwise. This is a serious issue which I have been affected by and while I saved myself from the accident, road accidents have become common for many in the city mainly due to the issue of congestion.

What the causes of this problem are?

I have traveled in Uber cabs, bikes and even in outstations. Although the convenience is high with cabs, increasingly there have been huge problems with transportation in cabs in the city. Uber tends to charge high from the passengers in comparison to what is actually displayed while booking the cab. Furthermore, Uber drivers have become quite notorious for not switching on the A/C in the cab due to the rising prices of Petrol and Diesel.

How it affects you?

Transportation using Uber cabs has become highly an issue for me in the city while traveling to distant places becomes difficult for me in public transport in lieu of the pandemic. While I consider being safe is important, I feel the issues faced by Uber cabs are rather unsettling. I have been affected by issues from Uber whereby either the waiting time is high or they charge extra. Furthermore, I have also been affected by drivers canceling the ride because of the charges being less for a particular distance. This is a huge issue in case of emergencies when I need to reach early at work.
