Answer 1:

when the festival occurs?

One of the traditional events that is so crucial in my country is Diwali, also called the Festival of Lights. Diwali generally takes place in October and November, depending on the Hindu calendar. Diwali also celebrates the homecoming of Lord Rama in Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana and represents the triumph of light and goodness over darkness and evil.

what you did during it?

During Diwali, my family and I are involved in cleaning and then decorating our house by setting up colorful lights and diyas. We change into new clothes and cook traditional sweets like laddoos and barfis. This year was unique since my family made a point to learn more about our traditions. We even performed Lakshmi Puja in the evening. Another fun part of Diwali involves fireworks.

what you like or dislike about it?

The thing I like most during Diwali is the good atmosphere that is produced. Everyone expects their differences and their houses are decorated very beautiful, and it is also an atmosphere of togetherness. The thing that I dislike during Diwali is the bursting of firecrackers. It produces air pollution and noises that can be very dangerous.

and explain why this festival is important?

This festival is essential in that it promotes family ties, helps to maintain our cultural values, and reminds us to be honest and kind in life. The significance of Diwali is not just the celebration, as it has an essential message.

Answer 2:

when the festival occurs?

A traditional festival that is of immense importance to my country and specifically to Eastern India is Durga Puja. Durga Puja normally takes place in September or October and marks the win of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. Durga Puja symbolizes victory over evil and feminine power over evil forces.

what you did during it?

During the Durga Puja celebrations, I like to visit the decorated pandals alongside friends and family. The pandals come up with a different theme and design every year. So, the experience is quite an adventure for us. We perform prayers to the goddess, watch cultural programs, and enjoy rolls and sweets sold in the stalls. On the last day, the idols of the goddess are immersed in the rivers as she goes back to heaven.

what you like or dislike about it?

One of the reasons I like this festival is the creativity that it displays. People from different neighborhoods come together to perform various activities, music, and dances. In addition, the number of people at times can be tiring, as traffic jams become a major issue during this time.

and explain why this festival is important?

Durga Puja has significance in that it showcases India’s cultural heritage. The event brings people together. Durga Puja has also transcended its initial form of being associated with a single caste in India to becoming more of a cultural event in recent years.

Answer 3:

when the festival occurs?

I think that one of the most common traditional events that takes place in my country is Holi, which is celebrating spring and also the triumph of good over evil, inspired by the story of Prahlad and Holika and takes place in March of each year.

what you did during it?

Holi is celebrated when people mark their presence by throwing colored substances and water. I mark this day along with my friends and neighbors by applying colors on each other, dancing on songs, and having some snacks like gujiya and thandai. Holi is remembered along with burning the Holika. Before Holi, Holika Dahan is remembered. It is the removal of darkness.

what you like or dislike about it?

I like the fact that the festival of Holi is so full of enthusiasm and carefree fun. People of all ages join in the festivities with so much fervor. However, what I dislike is the misuse of chemical colors as well as the heavy usage of water on this occasion.

and explain why this festival is important?

This festival holds its relevance because it inspires unity, forgiveness, and new life. Holi brings an understanding among people to move on from the last conflict in their lives and live life positively. Moreover, this celebration symbolizes the power of oneness amidst diversity.
