When was It?
Social media has undeniably become an integral part of our lives. Nowadays, social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Twitter, etc have become quite popular. These applications have become a part of our daily lives. We come across several interesting facts and stories on these platforms. It was about two weeks ago when I came across an interesting piece of story on one of the social media apps.

Where Did You See It?
I was sitting idle and bored when I happened to open my Facebook account. On scrolling, for a while, I came across an interesting video. As I have an innate interest in Engineering, I immediately clicked on the video. I clicked on it to know more about it.

What Did You See?
The video that I clicked on was about how engineers perform testing on different parts of an electrical transformer. During its life of service, a transformer undergoes various electrical, thermal, mechanical, and environmental stresses due to which the transformer gets damaged and gives rise to incipient faults. Thus, an electrical transformer is subjected to a number of tests like sweep frequency response test, turns ratio test, data, and so on. The video clearly depicts how electrical engineers perform these different tests on a transformer. The video also illustrated the different types of faults that occur in a transformer and how different parts of the transformer get damaged during the process.

Explain Why You Think it was Interesting?
Being an engineering enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed the video. I found the video extremely intriguing and knowledgeable. The video was an eye-opener from an electrical engineer's point of view. The video really helped me to discuss it with fellow classmates and my teachers. My teachers then further guided me with a few other channels that I could follow on social media platforms to enhance my knowledge of the subject.

When was it?

The usage of social media has escalated at a tremendous rate. Even though social media has its cons it also has its set of pros that are hard to neglect. Social media attracts all sorts of ideas, thoughts, and behaviors from all kinds of people, from all over the world. And thus, there is no exaggeration to say that social media is filled with interesting stories that we come across from time to time. Today, I would like to tell you one such interesting story that I came across a week back.

Where did you see it?

So I came across this video on Instagram. The video was posted by a young chef that used minimal ingredients to cook his dishes. I would like to state that I am not a fan of cooking. Cooking for me is something that I can sum up within 10 to 15 minutes. Spending hours standing in the kitchen cooking different dishes is not something I am into. This, when the video captioned baking a cake in 20 minutes, and with three ingredients captured my attention. I immediately clicked on the video.

What did you see?

The video streamed how the young chef used just three ingredients i.e biscuits, all-purpose flour, milk, and a pinch of baking soda to baking a cake. The chef mixed all the ingredients well, preheated the oven, transferred the ingredients to a pan, and kept it in the oven for about 10-15 minutes. As I mentioned I am not a good cook, I had never baked a cake. It was amazing to see the usage of only three ingredients to bake a cake. I always wondered if baking a cake requires too much effort, thus, I always avoided it. Anyhow, at the end of the video, the chef garnished the cake with melted chocolate lace, some chocolate chips, and fruits.

And explain why you think it was interesting?

I found the video really interesting as it was a savior for cooks like me. In just 20 minutes the check baked a beautiful-looking cake. I was impressed by his cooking tips and thus subscribed to his channel for future use.

When was it?

I am an inquisitive person thus I am always looking for interesting pieces of information or stories to catch up on. I mostly use my social media accounts to look for interesting pieces of stories.

Where did you see it?
I do not access Facebook as much. I open it rarely and when I do, I only look for interesting videos or stories that I can devour on. Last month, I came across an interesting video on Facebook.

What did you see?
The video illustrated some interesting facts of the pyramids of Giza, Egypt. I am a history enthusiast, thus, I love watching such videos. These piqued my interest even more in the wonders of the world. The video depicted some of interesting facts of the pyramids of Giza. Some of these include that While the three pyramids of the Giza plateau – known as Cheops (The Great Pyramid), Chephren and Mycerinus are the most famous in Egypt, more than 130 other pyramids have been discovered scattered around the area of Ancient Egypt. Other interesting facts included The Great Pyramid is thought to be constructed of over two million stone blocks, the temperature inside the pyramids remaining a constant 20 C despite the scorching heat in Egypt, and so on.

And explain why you think it was interesting?
According to me, it was an interesting video as the Pyramids were once one of the seven wonders of the world. It was interesting to learn a bit more about this marvelous wonder. I have always been fascinated by the pyramids of Egypt. I love watching such interesting pieces of information or documentaries as it takes me to the realm of the pyramids of Giza. It might sound strange but to me, it is quite interesting to watch documentaries or videos, even pictures of the pyramids in Egypt. Honestly, I somehow plan to visit Egypt someday and strike off one of the places on my bucket list.
