Model Answer 1

When and where did it happen?

I can still clearly recall the day, three years ago, when I blew my first job interview due to carelessness. I still regret the incident today. Attending an interview at such a time is more crucial and beneficial for our career.

What was the appointment for?

I submitted an application to work as a counseling psychologist for Xavier's university. It is one of the best international universities in India with a positive reputation and a pleasant workplace. After clearing the IQ written test, I waited for the interview opportunity for two months. I received an email telling me that I needed to attend the in-person interview with the managing committee, but it was all for nothing.

What happened when you missed it?

My interview was scheduled for 14:00, which I mistook for 4 PM. Because the trip would have taken around 45 minutes, I had set aside time to celebrate my close Aunt’s birthday at 2 pm as well as leave her house at 3 pm. I left my aunt’s place before 3 pm to avoid being late and prepared myself well for my interview. Sadly, the rain began, and the bus didn't arrive until 3:15 p.m. Every car moved inch by inch due to the terrible gridlock. The interview period finally ended, and I received a call from the business. The managing committee had a gruff voice when speaking. The management informed me that the interview period had ended and you had forfeited the opportunity.

And explain how you felt about the appointment?

After hearing this, I became furious and depressed. I felt terrible when I realized that my luck was not on my side in this situation. I regretted not being able to make it to the interview in time as I checked my mail once more after that. One of the worst experiences I've ever had led me to start carefully reading emails after that.

Model Answer 2

When and where did it happen?

In recent days, many people are struggling from the problem that they forget the things and work they’ve done after some passage of time. I do remember all my work and appointments, but now I would like to discuss a situation when I forgot one of the most important dates in my life.

What was the appointment for?

I have been suffering from a hair fall problem since the age of 18. So regarding the issue, I connected with a hair specialist who suggested I take hair therapy for continuous three months. Moreover, I was warned not to skip even a single therapy for three months. I started this process of therapy in November last year. I had to visit the hair specialist twice a month.

What happened when you missed it?

I had successfully continued it for three months. However, in January when the complete therapy process was about to get over and only one appointment was pending, I forgot to take the process. The reason why I had forgotten about the last process is that I went to attend my friend’s birthday party on the same day. The doctor called me the next day and told me that I should start the whole therapy process again and repay for the whole process.

And explain how you felt about the appointment?

I felt completely disappointed because it was a costly treatment and my parents warned me for my carelessness. After that incident, I always set an alarm/reminder on my mobile phone, which notifies me of all my future appointments and things related to work.

Model Answer 3

When and where did it happen?

I always try to be punctual in most cases but due to some unavoidable circumstance once, I failed to stick with my punctuality. Last year, I had a severe toothache that ruined my sleep. I suffered from unbearable pain and I was fighting with the pain the whole night. The very next day, I took a painkiller and it somewhat controlled my pain. I thought the pain would go away in two or three days but it didn’t.

What was the appointment for?

Immediately I surfed the internet and got a dentist’s contact number. I was allotted the appointment on the same day at 6 pm. I left my home 1 hour before my appointment time. Unfortunately, I got stuck in a heavy traffic jam. There was a protest going in the pathway, a huge number of protesters were held there and blocked the way. No one could move even an inch for an hour.

What happened when you missed it?

It was already 6 pm and I was worrying that I would miss this appointment with the dentist. I was blank at that moment and no idea was striking my mind. Then I called the dentist and told him about my current situation. After listening, the dentist rescheduled my appointment time to 7 pm.

And explain how you felt about the appointment?

After some minutes, the police force came to rescue and cleared the traffic. At the time I reached the clinic, everyone was leaving the hospital after the consulting hour. I pleaded with the dentist to check me once, but he refused. At the last moment before leaving the hospital he offered me to take medicine to lower the toothache. And he told me to visit the clinic the next day for the treatment. I felt really bad and depressed. This is one of the bad times that I missed an appointment with a dentist.
