What was wrong with you

Hospital is the only place where I am afraid of going. I hate visiting the doctors but once I had to visit the doctor due to an emergency condition. I had gone for a 9-10 days tour to the hill stations where the temperature was too low and the weather was too cold. After coming back from the tour, I suffered from a fever, terrible cold and stomach infections.

How you felt at that time

I was unable to breathe properly and a heavy headache, runny nose and stomach ache just made me feel uncomfortable. Due to these problems, I was unable to get back to my regular routine for a long time. Initially, I didn’t visit the doctor and was just taking the simple treatment at home. Those medicines were just giving me temporary relief. My stomach problem was increasing day by day. My digestive system was not in its right condition as I was unable to digest anything and was continuously feeling acidity in my stomach.

What happened at the doctor's/hospital

When my condition was not getting better, I finally decided to visit the doctor. The doctor thoroughly checked me and asked me the problems that I faced from day 1 till that day. He further asked me to open my mouth and checked the condition of my throat. After looking at overall conditions, he asked me to do some blood tests and noticed in the report that there was some infection in the blood. He checked my blood pressure and heartbeat rate. Everything was normal, there was just a little bit of infection in my blood.

At last, he told me to relax and not to worry much about it. He asked me to rest for a few more days and to stay away from the dust and wear the mask while coming in contact with others. He gave me the basic medicines of acidity, fever and cough and said to drink ginger lemon honey tea for the quick healing and fast recovery.

What was wrong with you

It was the biggest day of my life when I had to appear for the GATE examination for my higher studies. On the final day of the examination, I reached the exam center and started the exam. After 30 minutes of starting the examination, I felt a little bit of pain on the right side of my stomach. The pain was very less initially and I was in the condition to attempt the paper. But after 15 minutes, the pain started increasing slowly. I informed the invigilator regarding the problem that I was facing. He tried to make me comfortable, asked me to drink water and started attempting the paper. Again after 15 minutes, the pain continued but this time it was unbearable. The invigilator gave me glucose and fruits as he thought that it might be due to the stress of the examination. But my condition was getting worse and the pain was unbearable.

He finally called the head of the exam center and told my parents about my conditions. I was immediately rushed to the hospital.

When we reached the hospital, the doctor checked me after 10 minutes. The nurses were trying to reduce my pain but the pain was really unbearable. The doctor scanned my stomach and noticed that there were large- sized rocks in my kidney whose pain had started during my exam duration. I was really in a bad mood and uncomfortable due to my exam and the pain I was going through.

At that moment, the doctor gave me the painkiller and helped me to relax and made me feel comfortable. Later on, he gave me some injections so that I don’t go through that severe pain again and he prescribed me some medicines. Along with medicines, he told me to drink the maximum water as much as I can so that the stones get dissolved and move out through the kidney. He also told me to avoid the consumption of some fruits and veggies such as tomato seeds, guava, etc.

What was wrong with you

No one is interested in visiting the doctor, especially I am afraid of going to the hospital. Few months ago, due to some seasonal changes, I got affected by the weather changes such as cold, cough, fever, stomach infections, and migraine. My mother tried all the home treatment remedies to help me to cure these problems. But those remedies were giving me only temporary relief, and after some time, I was again suffering from that severe pain.

What happened at the doctor's/hospital

But when the pain became unbearable, I decided to visit the doctor for proper treatment. My parents took me to the hospital. I was wearing the mask and was sanitized at the hospital entry. The doctors asked me to do some tests and when the reports came, he noticed that I was suffering from the COVID-19. He checked my body temperature and heartbeat rate and asked me to take the immediate treatment. He asked me if I had come in contact with the other person who is corona positive but I denied it and said that I didn’t went outside my home during the lockdown. He told me to relax and feel comfortable. There was nothing much serious.

He told me to stay away from everyone for the next 14 days and take the test again for the final confirmation. Till then he prescribed me a few medicines and asked me to take precautions and maintain the distance from others. I was just taking a healthy diet to improve my immune system and fight against this virus.
