Describe A Time When You Forgot Something Important Cue Card

What did you forget?

To deposit the money, I had to fill a form to transfer the money to the bank account. It was then when I realized that I had forgotten something really important to me. The thing which I forgot was my spectacles because of which I cannot see properly. And I wasn’t able to fill the form since I’ve weak eyesight. I realized that I’ve forgotten the specs case inside the cab which I took from home to the bank.

What was the result of forgetting?

It was my fault as I was in a hurry and the bank was far from my home, so I could not go back to bring other specs of mine. Luckily a security guard was standing at the main gate of the bank. I asked him to help me with the form for transferring the money. The guard was kind enough and genuinely helped me fill the form.

Why was it important?

It was urgent to transfer the money to my sister’s account since she was required to submit her college dues before the deadline. The fee depositing deadline was at the corner failing which could lead to disqualification for the next semester. She would have to fill the entire semester fee again with the 10% of the fees as the penalty for a late submission. It was extremely important that I send the money to her for her exams and save her semester. Forgetting my classes in the cab was an unfortunate incident although I am glad I could deposit her money.

What did you forget?

On the day of the examination, I encountered that I’ve forgotten the most important thing required for my exam. I arrived at the exam center half an hour before the beginning of the exam along with my father. I went to the queue in front of the entry gate where entry was allowed to only those candidates who had brought their admit cards. I was at the 5th position in the queue and I realized that I hadn't brought my admit card. The admit card was necessary to appear in the exam without which no entry was allowed in the examination hall and write the exam.

What happened as a result of forgetting?

Initially, I was frustrated as it was my first entrance exam which was so important to me and I didn’t bring the most important thing with me which was my admit card. I felt a bit nervous that I might not be able to appear for the exam just because of my silly mistake. Fortunately, my father didn’t leave after dropping me at the exam center. I ran towards him and asked him to bring me an admit card.

Why was it important?

Since the exam center was not much far from my home, I managed to arrange the admit card within 15 minutes. After my father bought the admit card, I showed it to the guard at the gate of the examination center. Then I went straight to the examination hall which was allocated to me. I gave the exam and successfully scored enough marks to get admission into a good college.

What did you forget?

I was so excited about the trip that I forgot to bring my train ticket with me. It would have been easier if I had booked the ticket online but unfortunately I booked it from the reservation counter at the railway station. I couldn’t go back to my home to bring the ticket as the railway station was a 1-hour distance from my home and the train was scheduled for 8:30 AM.

What happened as a result of forgetting?

Only 20 minutes were left for the train to arrive at the station. I had no other option left as the ticket collector only wants the original ticket and not the picture. So I couldn’t even ask someone at my home to send a picture of the ticket so I had to book another ticket in an emergency again from the ticket counter. As a result of forgetting my tickets I had to book another train ticket at a higher price.

Why was it important?

It was important that I was able to travel by train. Forgetting the ticket and not having one with me would have let me cancel the plan. The trip went well and it was one of the most memorable trips ever. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. But one thing I learned from the trip was to always book tickets online whenever possible.
