Model Answer 1

When it happened?

I stay in a joint family with around fifteen members. All of the seniors in my family have worked hard to ensure that we grow up with moral and ethical values. My father has three brothers and two of them have two children. I am a single child in the family. Since we stay in a joint family, we all have grown up together. We have seen the ups and downs of each other through thick and thin. There have been many situations where I was proud of one of my family members. One such incident happened when my oldest brother was in college. It was just before the last semester when one of his friends was stopped from taking the exam. It was due to his inability to pay the fees. So my eldest brother helped him with paying his college dues which is one of the most generous acts that he did. I was super proud of him.

Who is this person?

He is my cousin brother. He is the son of my uncle and the oldest among the five of us. He does tuition for earning extra money and helps others. He is the kind type of guy who worked in many NGO’s helping the needy and the poor. Everyone in the family is proud of him.

What the person did?

During his college days, my brother used to give tuition for Economics to the students of 11th and 12th grades. He was very independent and never took money from his family. I have also seen him treat the whole family by saving his pocket money. While he was saving up to buy a new phone for himself for over a year, he helped his friend without any thought. He was able to push through almost 70% of the saved-up money to fill in the dues of his friend and helped him appear for the exams.

Explain why you felt proud of him/her?

It was definitely a great sacrifice that he made. He never thought twice before proceeding. I was awestruck as well as extremely inspired by his behavior. He always believed that humanity is to help others in the time of need. I am proud of him because of his thoughts and deeds. He has always made me proud with these small and big gestures and acts.

Model Answer 2

When it happened?

The family has a key role to play in any individual’s life. They shape an individual’s personality and thinking. There have been several occasions when my family members have made me proud. I would like to talk about my younger sister who is now 13 years old but was 10 when the incident took place three years ago. She participated in an art competition and while she has always been a good painter I never knew she would be able to create a record of her own. She was able to make the entire family, especially me proud because of her achievement.

Who is this person?

The person is my younger sister who studies currently in school. While she is extremely great in her studies, her dedication to her painting is tremendous. She has always stood first in any competition in school and inter-school competitions and has always kept her family and teachers and friends feeling proud.

What the person did?

Once, three years back she participated in a state-level art competition that gave them an on-spot theme and they had to indulge in creating a landscape painting relevant to the theme with oil painting. She instantly was able to grasp her knowledge on art and use her creativity to surprise the judges and bagged the first position. Further, she moved on to participate in the National Level Art Competition enabling her to win the first prize even there and was felicitated by the Cultural Minister of India.

Explain why you felt proud of him/her?

She has always excelled in the national level, and she won first place in this craft competition.
We were really proud of her. It was a very memorable day for the entire family. My father was particularly proud of my sister because he had a strong desire to see her as a winner.

Model Answer 3

When it happened?

In our lives, the family works as an everlasting link. Whatever the case may be, a person's major driving force on this planet is the family into which he is born and raised, where he learns to love, care, and compassion, among other high-end qualities. In our families, we all love and respect one another. However, there are some achievements done by members of the family that make you proud of them. My cousin's sister Sania is a crime journalist and reporter who has been involved in various different cases in her life. The proud moment happened in one of her covers in a case in Mumbai. In 2008, she was sent to Mumbai. It was then, in September 2008, when the Taj Mahal Hotel catastrophe occurred, and Mumbai was briefly kidnapped by terrorists.

Who is this person?

My sister was the one who covered and reported the chaos on a big news station in real time. My sister was aggressively covering all the tense regions one by one from the minute Mumbai awoke to the first terrorist gunfire. She went to great lengths to acquire adequate evidence against those willing-to-die terrorists in order to conceal their source and identity during interrogation.

What the person did?

When terrorists opened fire in public places, she put herself in danger by hiding in a corner, her third eye covering every horrible moment. Her live broadcast depicted the faces and malicious activities of those terror offenders, which was extremely useful for intelligence monitoring. These video clips would later be used as visual evidence of state-sponsored terrorism perpetrated by our neighboring country. Later, she was the first presenter to reflect on our neighbor's evil intentions and the bravery of our commandos in Mission Taj, where they killed all the terrorists and rescued the captives. The President of India honored her for her valorous patriotic journalism.

Explain why you felt proud of him/her?

Seeing her fight and cover the report with such vigor and bravery made all of be proud of her. It was definitely a risky area that she tapped into and very scary for a person to be involved in such grave cases. However, she was brave enough to go through the hustle. Her news channel even felicitated and promoted her as the best on-field reporter. She has indeed made me proud and inspired me well enough to fight the battles of life.
