Model Answer 1

What class/subject the teacher taught you?

I have been fortunate enough to come across many teachers during my years as a student. All of them have contributed some more, some less in helping me become the person I am today. However, there is one teacher from my school life who holds a special place in my heart, and I remember him more than others. It was my Math teacher.

How old were you then?

It was about 14 years ago when I was a 13-year-old high school student- a student who specifically hated math. I found math so difficult that sometimes I pretended to be sick in front of my parents just so I could skip the class. I had tried my best to perform in this subject but could always only manage to secure the passing grade. All of this took a new turn for me when Mr. Rajon Sheikh joined our high school as the math teacher.

What characteristics of this teacher do you remember?

By way of appearance, he did not look like a very smart person to me to teach math as a profession, even though he was very qualified in the field. On the first day of class, Mr. Rajon gave us a brief introductory lecture about himself. He also talked about the math lesson and I was very much impressed by the confidence he displayed. He even went to the extent of assuring us that if we paid attention for 30 minutes in his class for 6 months, he would turn us into math experts. As his lectures started, surprisingly math started to make a whole lot of sense to me. I practiced every day and as I was able to solve the problems, the same also made me confident in 6 months and I felt like I could get a good score.

How did he/she make a mark in your life?

I remember this teacher because he introduced us to many tips and tricks to solve problems more simply. His teaching techniques generated genuine interest in students wanting to learn math. I would every day be excited about math class. He gave me the confidence not only to do well in math but other subjects too.

Model Answer 2

What class/subject the teacher taught you?

All through my academic years, I have come across many teachers, mostly all of whom I remember because of their unique personalities and style of teaching. Such a teacher whom I remember is Mr. Kulkarni who taught us History during 8th grade.

How old were you then?

I was then about 14 years old and was in the 8th grade. He had an admirable personality and a very different way of teaching when compared to other teachers. He was very punctual and honest and inspired us to be the same. He never pressured us to study in his classes and always told us funny historical anecdotes to do away with the monotony. It was during his classes that I never felt bored.

What characteristics of this teacher do you remember?

He had the gift of eloquent speaking and storytelling which kept me hooked during his classes. Much of the history I remember now is because of him. I am a Science Major and have not studied history after school, but whatever interest I grew in history is because of his contribution. There are times I still recall his stories and burst out laughing. He never misbehaved with any student and all his students were very fond of him.

How did he/she make a mark in your life?

We kept in touch with him and I learned later in life that he was an honest and down-to-earth man even in his personal life. I still remember him because he was a wise mentor and a good man who taught us not only history but also many values of life.

Model Answer 3

What class/subject the teacher taught you?

When I was in Class nine, we entered high school, and with the introduction of new subjects, we also had several new teachers too. One such teacher whom I remember from my school years is Shanket Sir, who was the art and crafts teacher. He was one of the best teachers in class nine.

How old were you then?

I was 15 years old and was studying in class nine.

What characteristics of this teacher do you remember?

He was very humorous and always kept our spirits up by making jokes. He never force anyone to take interest in his subject, rather encouraged us to create unique sketches, handicrafts. He also sometimes allowed us to draw, paint, doodle whatever we wanted. He would arouse our interest in art and craft and help us get to the depth of the subject, rather than teaching just to complete the program. He has lots of knowledge and would always relate our creations to art history and stimulate our minds. He would give good marks to everyone with positive feedback to keep us motivated throughout. He had the power to grasp everyone’s attention for hours to what he was teaching. Along with his visual art skills, he would make funny voices, mimic characters to make us laugh. Art and craft became a recreational subject for us, and we looked forward to spending time in class with Shanket sir.

How did he/she make a mark in your life?

One of the best things about him was that he could draw anything by observing it for hours. This tactic also helped me with my lab diagrams during my University years. All these memorable qualities in him inspired me a lot and that is why I still remember him.
