Where is it?

Until this age, I have seen several differebnt types of buildings with varieties of architecture. Few of the buildings are reknowned for their unique designs and peculiar architecture. I would like to quote about one such building that I happen to pass by few months ago. I reside in Malaga, Spain, which is one of the oldest cities in the country. It is the oldest in that country, thus, it encompasses numerous architectural structures that adorn the city. One of the buildings that I came across recently was a 16-storied building made entirely of glass. The building is located in the southeast corner of the city. The best part of the building is that it looks beautiful during mornings.

What is it used for?

The 16-storied building is used as a shopping mall. Not to mention it is the tallest and the largest building in the area. The building has almost all the renowned brands, even some local stores.

What does it look like?

As I mentioned earlier this building is a 16-storied building entirely made up of glass. It is practically a glass tower that captivates the attention of its visitors. The building looks marvellous in the morning when the sunlight reflects off its glass. Being a mega shopping mall, the building houses almost all the renowned brands and also some of the local stores. Additionally, the building has a central heating system to provide comfort for its visitors.

And explain why you like or dislike it?

To be honest I have mixed reactions towards this building. I kind of like it but also like it. I like it due to its design, as for me it is a complete wonder to look at. However, the effort that has gone down behind its construction makes me unhappy. Of Course the construction of the building has entailed a huge wreck on the environment. In terms of the plethora of trees that might have been cut down to make space to construct this building. It is the only thing that makes me dislike the building.

Where is it?

There are a number of buildings in my city, however there is one skyscraper that has totally taken me aback. It has carved a niche for itself due to its peculiar architectural design, its style and ingenuity. The building is situated in the central part of the city and is called the JB tower. Even though it is far away from my place I often visit this store to glance at this marvellous piece.

What is it used for?

Situated in the central part of the city, this building houses some of the expensive and lavish brands. I believe people with an extravagant lifestyle only come here for shopping. There have been a few Indian celebrities spotted at the place. The food court is another intriguing part of this tower. From fancy restaurants to opulent bars, the places here are to die for. I once got a chance to visit the tower as my company had organised an event at one of their restaurants.

What does it look like?

The best part of the tower is its main gate which is made up of stone and has some beautiful scriptures and paintings carved on it. After a thorough research I got to know that the scriptures are dated to the 7th century. Since then the gate has been reconstructed several times, but one can still see some of the scriptures carved on the gate. The paintings on the other hand are drawn by the local talent. The painters are anonymous but their work truly speaks volumes. Also, the tower is surrounded by a lot of trees and even has a fountain at the entrance. Additionally, to extract maximum solar energy, the architects have left no stone unturned. They have given it such a shape that is conducive to make effective use of the sunlight.

Explain why you like or dislike it?

I like this building because it is the epitome of grandeur. With its beautifully painted main gate, the fountain and the several brands that it houses, it has struck with me. However, being a nature-lover, some part of me also does not concur with the fact that the environment must have been damaged on a large scale for the construction of this building. The building is spread across more than 200 acres, thus, one can assume the amount of trees that might have been cut down for the construction of this building.

Where is it?

There are not many tall buildings in my hometown. However, the ones that are there definitely deserve some attention. Located in the central part of my hometown is an old building that depicts colonial architecture. The buildings have been standing tall since the British invaded India. Additionally, this building is 6 stories, with a size of about 14,000 square feet on each floor.

What is it used for?

Located at the heart of my hometown this 6 storied building was earlier used as a club by the britishers. The building was converted into a library. Not only does it house the historical developments, artefacts, scriptures of my hometown but also peculiar artefacts from all over the world. Thousands of tourists come here every year to relish the beautiful historical artefacts, scriptures and manuscripts. Of Course not many people would consider it a recreational spot. I on the other hand have a passion and a knack for Indian history and am a fan of this building.

What does it look like?

The building is made up of all kinds of modern building materials, including fine limestone gravel, river sand, bricks, tiles, fibre cement sheets, metal rods, concrete, cement and glasses among many other things. Additionally, the design of the building is somewhat curved which is another intriguing feature of this building. The building’s exterior is made of fibreglass and aluminium composite sheet while the entire interior floor and walls are made of very high-quality tiles. The building is also fully air-conditioned. There is a large patio/terrace in the mid-section of the building for people to relax. Also, the building also has a huge parking space in front of it.

And explain why you like or dislike it?

I like this building, primarily because I am a history lover and nothing interests me more than the old manuscripts, scriptures and other artefacts that have a historical importance. Secondly, I love the architectural design of this building. Also, the building is situated at the heart of my hometown. The building can be seen from far away and it is the first thing that is visible when anyone visits the hometown.
