Model Answer 1

Where you had it?

I am a foodie and I love to try different meals and cuisines. Recently, I went to Rajasthan on a family trip. It was my father’s birthday and we planned a surprise for him. My father had always mentioned his wish to have Rajasthani cuisine. We went to an authentic Rajasthani restaurant called Gypsy.

Who you had it with?

They serve authentic Rajasthani food, especially thalis. My whole family went there. We were a group of 9 people and my brother had already booked a table at the restaurant. The restaurant was informed about my father’s birthday. They decorated the place with balloons and candles. We went there at around 8 P.M. mY father was surprised to see the arrangements that were made. The restaurant manager came with a cake and wished my father a happy birthday.

What you ate?

We started our dinner after that. The menu included authentic Rajasthani thali. The thali consisted of Dal Baati, Malaidar special lassi, Lahsun ki chutney (hot garlic paste), Mawa lassi from Jodhpur, Alwar ka mawa, Malpauas from Pushkar. They also served Balusahi, Gatte ki Sabzi and Laal Maans.

Explain it was special for you?

My father is a fan of non vegetarian food and Laal Maans was his top favorite. Laal maans is a meat curry from Rajasthan, India. It is a mutton curry prepared in a sauce of yogurt and hot spices such as red Mathania chillies. It is eaten with chapatis made out of wheat or bajra. I have also been longing for a Rajasthani meal and it was a very special one. Having such a meal on a special occasion like my father’s birthday made it more special for me.

Model Answer 2

Where you had it?

I am not a huge food connoisseur but I love to try different cuisines. I always try to have authentic foods from the places that I visit. Last week, I was on an office trip to Karnataka and came to know about some authentic foods like Neer Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa and Ambur Biryani. I called up my friend who stays in Bangalore for a food tour around the city.

Who you had it with?

He agreed as it was Sunday. We started right from breakfast and finished at lunch. He took me to a place called Udupi Upahar, which is an authentic food joint specialized in Dosas.

We ordered one Neer Dosa and one Masala Dosa. It was delightfully tasty. The coconut chutney they offer with the dosas was amazing. After we completed our breakfast, we went on a ride around the city.

What you ate?

At lunch we stopped at the biryani stall and ordered 2 plates of biryani. The taste of the biryani was totally different. The spices and the rice used is not the same as the biriyani we get in other states of India. It was spicy and very tasty. It filled the taste buds with different types of flavor. We ordered 2 mutton biryanis and the meat was very soft and tender. We also ordered sweets for dessert. It was the authentic sweet which is Mysore Pak. It is made of generous amounts of ghee, sugar, gram flour, and often cardamom.

Explain it was special for you?

This gives you a feel of a cookie but more soft and buttery. After we finished our lunch, we headed straight for home. It was a very special breakfast and lunch. It was special for me as I had the chance of having authentic south Indian food for the first time.

Model Answer 3

Where you had it?

Being a food lover, I always try to look for street foods. Recently, I visited the streets of Delhi to have street food. I found a shop which had seating arrangements and a well decorated interior. I went into the shop. I was alone that day as all my friends were busy. The restaurant owner offered me a seat and informed me what the special items or the bestsellers were.

What you ate?

As it was a street food joint, I did not expect much hygiene. However, the shop was clean enough and it was named Aslam Chicken Corner. I had also seen videos of different bloggers for the special butter chicken they cook. I ordered one butter chicken and as a starter, I ordered, seekh kebabs. I also ordered tandoori roti to have with the butter chicken. It took 15 minutes to bring the food. They also served salad which was complimentary with the food. The taste was unexpected. I loved the Aslam butter chicken. It was very different from the other butter chickens that I had previously. The seekh kebabs were soft and juicy. It was a one of a kind meal that afternoon.

Explain it was special for you?

I loved the street food ambience and the taste of the food. It was cheap and they served food in a clean and hygienic environment. The taste of the butter chicken still lingers in my taste buds. It was a very special and memorable meal for me.
