What is it?

Learning new skills increases our knowledge. It helps us to progress in our professional and personal life. Calligraphy is one such skill that I always wanted to learn. My interest in this particular skill was thus sparked throughout my time in school. I saw different videos and decorations where calligraphy was used. It made a simple document, a more appealing and distinctive presentation. I wanted to apply all those styles in my projects. However, this urge to learn calligraphy slowly submerged. I had long since forgotten it because of my busy schedule. During this pandemic, this urge to learn calligraphy was restored. I searched up for a few quick calligraphy lessons online, which were quite helpful for me. I also searched for quality calligraphy supplies to aid with my studies.

How can you teach this skill to others?

Everyone who can write can learn calligraphy. I still keep enrolling in some of the free online calligraphy courses trying to learn and add new styles to my list. I have suggested to my friends also sign up for the classes. It needs professional help to learn calligraphy. Digital resources have gradually acquired fame in the field of modern calligraphy. Once I learn calligraphy, I am planning to open a youtube channel on teaching calligraphy to those who wish to learn this skill. This will help others as well as me in bringing my theoretical learning into the practical arena. I have also planned to launch an app on calligraphy. The app will consist of short videos and audio explanations of different styles of calligraphy. This will help people in learning calligraphy in their free time.

How Do You Feel About This Skill?

I believe that learning any new skill changes one’s life. The person gets to know a new world related to calligraphy. This skill is quite meditative and relaxing. This skill makes our thoughts finer. It enhances new thoughts and increases the stability of the hand. I feel this can make a person much more relaxed and stable in life.

Our personality and mental processes grow as a result of learning. I recently learnt how to tell stories, which is one of these skills. It is a very engaging exercise that requires a lot of imagination and creativity. Storytelling, though, is more difficult than it seems. One may not be familiar with all of the things it entails. This ability is one I recently learned, and I want to impart it.

How can you teach this skill to others?

I developed an interest in this skill from there. A professor was appointed who first taught us certain lessons. I also enrolled in some free online courses of storytelling for better understanding. Along with this, I wrote stories for plays, stage dramas, and nukkad nataks. Observing good storytellers helped me a lot in this learning process. Today learning any skill is not a difficult task. A wide range of online resources, Youtube channels, apps, etc is available which can help the students in learning the skill of storytelling. I would also recommend to those who are interested in storytelling, to be indulged in reading different books. It will help in developing more ideas and will definitely increase the creativity of the students.

How Do You Feel About This Skill?

I have learned a lot from this skill of storytelling. It has increased my vocabulary, cultural understanding, communication skills, listening skills, imagination, and social skills. It has made my learning easier and efficient. It has helped me in experiencing different worlds and traditions through just stories.

Now I have scheduled my timetable and given some hours of my life daily to this skill that I learned.

To learn new things in life, there is no set age. Always be willing to try new things. Having a variety of abilities is crucial in the modern world. It's essential to continuously improve your talents if you want to stay ahead in this cutthroat world.

What is it? How Did You Learn It?

During the lockdown, when I got tired of trying all the recipes and playing all the board games in the world. I found a chance to learn a new skill that I have been waiting patiently for quite a time. That was the best opportunity to learn something new. So I finally decided to bring out all my French language books that have been kept on the bookshelf for about a year. I am keenly interested in learning new languages as it helps us break barriers and experience different cultures and customs. It was pretty difficult for me to learn French as my mother tongue is Hindi and has no correlation between the two languages. But with my constant efforts, I was able to achieve my long-term goal.

How Can I Teach This Skill To Others?

In this internet age, there is nothing that you can not learn from youtube or other online platforms. I have designed a course and published it on youtube so that other people can enhance their french speaking skills. I have introduced some easy tips and tricks to make it easy for others to learn the language.

How Do You Feel About This Skill?

Skills are what make or break a person. The more skilled an individual is, the better are their chances of succeeding in life. This is what I learned from my previous mentors. Going to Paris is everyone’s dream and learning French has increased my chances to live in a french speaking country. I feel good that I utilized my time in the right way.
