Where you went
I believe everyone should go on short trips to rejuvenate their minds. Small trips on weekends or long holidays refresh a person. It diverts their mind from everyday hassles. For me, such trips help shed the work stress. hence, last weekend I decided to visit my grandmother’s place called Tattapani, also called hot water. This place is situated at a height of approximately 2000 meters above sea level and is famous for its healing hot springs and water sports. The place is just 70 kilometers away from my home. Hence, the choice was very obvious as I did not have to travel much.
Who you went with
I informed my cousins about this weekend trip and they agreed to join. Four of my cousins including me started this trip. I am used to the hilly areas and the roads, however, my cousins have stayed their entire life in Delhi. Hence, it was very new for them.
What you did
I do not get road sick easily since I am accustomed to the hilly areas and the roads. My cousins are just the opposite. They lived in town and are not used to hilly areas. They are afraid of the roads here and often get sick while traveling. Since it was a weekend trip, we started our journey early money. This would help us avoid traffic and reach our destination on time. My cousins were mesmerized by the scenic views during the journey. After about an hour, we got stuck in bad traffic.
Explain why you disliked this journey
I have traveled these roads for many years. It does not have traffic early in the morning. I was surprised to see such a long queue of cars and public transport. There were hundreds of cars lined up. We were stuck there for about two hours. I came to know from the locals that the traffic is due to an accident that happened early morning. After the two-hour struggle, one of my cousins started feeling sick. She was getting road sick due to the edgy curves of the road and the elevation. We had to stop at multiple locations as she was feeling like she will puke. It took us about five and a half hours to reach the destination. Our 2.5 hours-short journey thus became a tedious one. We were all tired after reaching and could not enjoy the day. It was the worst trip experience of my life.

Where you went
I believe are the best way to spend the weekends is short excursions. About a year ago on a weekend me and a couple of my friends decided to go to an exhibition that was about 60 kms from the city.
Who you went with
Me and my friends decided to leave early in the morning so that we could enjoy the exhibition and also visit some of the nearby places. Usually, it takes only about 1.5 hours to reach the place, so we rented a car and started our journey at 6.00 AM.
What you did
As we crossed the city I was mesmerized by the picturesque views. The undulating hills, the flowing river by the roadside, and the weather all culminated to make it the best day for an outing. After an hour of the journey, we got stuck in traffic. We had no idea why the road was congested but I could see a number of vehicles lined up before us.
Explain why you disliked this journey
Later after enquiring, we got to know that there was road construction going on. We were only six kilometers from the destination but got stuck in traffic for about two hours. The vehicles before us were moving slowly. There was no out but to wait for the traffic to get cleared up. It took us twice the time to reach the time and by the time we reached we were all so bored and exhausted. We also didn’t get the time to visit the nearby places. We saw the exhibition and then returned back to the city. We were so exhausted and tired that we couldn’t enjoy the exhibition as well. Overall it was my worst trip ever.

Where you went
About a year ago my family and I planned to travel to visit the Nandi Hills. We were staying in Bangalore at the time. Located approximately 70 kms from the we decided to visit the Nandi Hills on a weekend.
Who you went with
My parents didn’t have to go to the office and I had my day off from college so it was perfect for us to travel. So I went with my family.
What you did
I had heard stories about these beautiful hills from my friends but had never gotten a chance to visit the place. My friends had informed me that apart from the beautiful scenic views, Nandi Hills are famous for trekking, bird watching, paragliding, cycling etc. I was thrilled and wanted to make it the most memorable trip. We didn't travel by bus as I feel nauseated and have headaches. Besides, I personally feel that a bus journey is never as much fun as a road trip in a car. We left an hour early in the morning so that we could reach there in time. After exiting the city we enjoyed the scenic views, the road was free from traffic which is hardly a sight that we witness in Bangalore.
Explain why you disliked this journey
The road had some deadly turns and steep sides, which was a bit scary but my father drove slowly, so that we felt comfortable during the journey. Two hours after we had left home when we saw the road congested with traffic. After enquiring we were informed that two cars had crashed on a blind turn. They had been arguing for a few hours and had even called the police. The worst part was that we were just 30 minutes away from the destination. We had no other option but to wait there until the road was cleared. I was downright lost the motivation and thrill to visit. We were exhausted after a while and wanted to go back home. After about three hours the police came and settled the argument between the two parties. We reached Nandi Hills way behind the schedule. Even though we were amazed by the lush greenery of the place, we were too exhausted to indulge in any outdoor sports. We did take a short cycling trip and tried our best to cover almost all the places. We hurried through the entire trip which was not what I had expected in the first place. The road accident during the journey got us way behind the schedule making it the worst short trip ever.
