Describe a School you have Studied In Cue Card

How long you have studied in it?

Every morning the school began with a 30-45 minute prayer ceremony which included reading out a few verses from the bible by the students followed by the choir singing a few songs. Also, there were numerous social work activities organised by the school. On weekends we along with our teachers would go to a nearby school to donate old clothes, books, etc. I liked how the school had placed equal importance on education as well as other extra-curricular activities.

What did you like/ dislike about it?

There was nothing that I disliked about the school. This school was nothing but a stepping stone in shaping the person I am today. It has been almost 3 years since I passed out from school, but I still vividly remember the functions, the morning assembly, the last day of my school, my teachers, and friends.

Describe how you feel now about studying in this school?

These were the best 10 years of my life. I miss participating in the various functions organised by the school, being reprimanded by the teachers, sometimes for scoring less, and sometimes for not completing my homework. PTM dreaded me a lot as my parents would want to meet every subject teacher of mine. But I still miss everything and consider myself fortunate to attend this school. This school and my teachers taught me a lot of important life lessons, from understanding the importance of perseverance to discipline and more.

How long you have studied in it?

The playing area of the school expanded over an area of 100 acres. The ground consisted of a volleyball space, a basketball ground, and a tennis court. As my home was near the school, I used to go for the morning jog in the school playground. Initially, I was not very excited about joining the school, as all of my friends had joined a different school. But I somehow started liking it, as the school playground was so huge that it satiated my love for sports.

What did you like/ dislike about it?

The ambiance of the school was okay, and so were the academics. The teachers were very knowledgeable and supportive at the same time. Teachers would be available in case the students had any doubts or queries in their academics even on a holiday. One thing that I disliked about the school is that the teachers and the students always spoke in Hindi. The students rarely spoke in English. Also, the school never conducted any functions for the students to participate.

Describe how you feel now about studying in this school?

I loved dancing but was disappointed when I got to know that the school did not organise any inter-school competitions. Although, the school organised several inter-school painting, sports, competition but rarely a dancing competition. However, the school stressed on the importance of education in today's world. The school also had ties with a few NGOs that helped the stray dogs, by providing them with food supplies and other utilities. It also had ties with a few NGOs that helped the poor by donating clothes, books and other important things. This was the best thing about this school.

It has been two years since I passed out from the school but I still remember how this school helped me shape my morning routine, enhanced my sport skills and also taught me the importance of charity work. It is because of this school that I enrolled myself with a few NGO that are genuinely helping the needy out there.

How long you have studied in it?

The school was spread across 90 acres and had various indoor and outdoor facilities like a swimming pool, volleyball court, a music centre, and so on. It was a co-ed school. What I loved about this school was its music centre. Surrounded by all different kinds of instruments, I fell in love with them instantly. I remember I wanted to learn how to play the guitar. So I joined the music class. We also had a school band that performed on several occasions and also got to participate in various other inter-school competitions.

What did you like/ dislike about it?

The school wanted students to be active in academics as well as extra-curricular. Thus, every student was asked to contribute in one way or the other. I joined the drama club, the music club, and the sports club. It was this school that shaped my interest in music and sports and after leaving the school I played many nationals, which earned a lot of accolades. There was not a single thing that I hated about the school. I loved every bit of it.

Describe how you feel now about studying in this school?

Additionally, the school organised charity shows and the money that was collected was given to local NGOs’. I used to stay in boarding as my native was in Tamil Nadu. It was a new experience for me as firstly I had never stepped outside my home, and second, never stayed in the boarding. I made a lot of friends who are still in touch with me. Boarding teaches a lot of things about being independent. I still remember the fun we had in school and boarding. I learned very important skills in school which were time management and being independent. These have helped me a lot to achieve even the slightest things in life that I wanted.
