A Recent Event That Made You Happy Cue Card

When it was?

I was accompanied by my music teacher in the competition. The competition in my category started at 1:30 PM, our sequence of performance was decided by a draw and I had to perform in third place. I gave my best performance there and everyone there praised me for my performance including the honorable judges.

What you did?

The results were announced on the same day at 5:30 PM after the closing address. I was with my music teacher and they announced. I've secured the first position in the State Level Youth Festival Non - Percussion Indian Musical Instrument Playing category. At first, I didn't believe it, but I made it. Then I took blessings from my music teacher and informed my parents about the achievement.

Explain why this event made you happy?

I was so happy and excited about this achievement as I was able to represent my district at the state level. I knew that after winning this competition I will be representing my state at the national level. Now I'm preparing myself for the National Level Youth Festival, which is scheduled for next month and I'll make teachers and parents feel proud of me.

When it was?

When the results were announced by the UPSC I was at my friend's house, helping him with his maths problems. We were solving maths exercises together. I had no idea that the result was declared when my younger sister made a call to me. My sister informed me that the result has been declared and asked me to check the same.

What you did?

I immediately opened the UPSC website and I knew this time I was going to make it. I downloaded the result PDF from the website and searched for my roll number and there it was! I was able to clear it. I jumped with excitement, my friend asked me the reason and I told him the reason. He was also very happy and asked me for a party. I said to him that he'll have a party soon. I went home and took blessings from my elders. My mother was so happy for me but on the other hand. She was also a little bit disappointed because I had to stay away from my home for the training. I convinced her that I'll return soon and serve my country.

Explain why this event made you happy?

I was so happy about my achievement as it was my 4th and last attempt for UPSC NDA and I had spent many months preparing for it. I was going to serve my country. And it was the event that gave me the fruit of my hard work.

When it was?

In my case I wanted a laptop to learn programming languages and I went to my parents and asked them for the same. They agreed to my demand in my first trial but they told me that I'll be given a laptop only if I score good marks in my 12th board exams. I promised them to secure good marks in my board exams and I was able to keep my promise. I got very good marks in my board exams. But at that time due to Covid 19 pandemic, the financial condition of my family was not so good. I told my parents not to buy a laptop for me till the situation becomes feasible.

What you did?

After 2 months on my birthday, I got a surprise gift from my parents, a laptop! At that time I was helping my younger sister with her assignments. My sister and I became so happy. I had no idea of such an amazing gift and I was so happy and thankful to my parents. I couldn't express my happiness at that time and I was thinking of utilizing it for the best purpose.

Explain why this event made you happy?

I promised my parents to use it for the purpose of studying and learning only. I was so happy for that event as I was going to learn something new and grow my knowledge from that gift.
