Describe a product you bought that you were (or, are) happy with Cue Card is the topic in IELTS Speaking. Explain why you bought it?

I love to cook and usually buy things related to the kitchen and cooking. I have also renovated my kitchen as per my choice. I have bought plenty of things in the last few days for the kitchen. One of the things that made me jubilant was an electric vegetable chopper. I bought this chopper since I have recently shifted to a new city for a job. Throughout my life so far, I have been living under the care of my family. However, shifting to a new city took a toll on me not just emotionally but physically. I was finding it difficult to manage between jobs and cooking my favorite dishes. I bought this chopper so that the chopping time reduces and I can cook faster.

Why you selected this product?

I usually research a whole lot before buying any product. Preparing meals used to consume a lot of time but recently I stumbled across an electric vegetable chopper. This product has made my life easy and fast. Now I am able to manage my time.

From where you purchased it?

It was difficult for me to go to a store and take time out for that. Hence, I ordered it online and it was delivered to me within 2 days.

Why are you so happy about it?

The electric vegetable chopper has sharp blades attached to it that chop the vegetable in a minute. I do not need to spend hours chopping every vegetable that I wish to eat. Since it is electrically operated, I just put in the vegetables, and voila! They are chopped into fine pieces. This product successfully meets my morning breakfast expectations as well. Since I like eating eggs for breakfast, it helps me in beating them and within a few minutes, I can prepare a super fluffy omelet. I thank you for allowing me to speak about the recent purchase that made me happy. Generally, when I shop, I do not put much thought into it and I end up buying things that I probably do not even need. But I have long been struggling with my old laptop and it was time when I had to buy something that I needed, which was a new laptop. I have recently started working and due to the pandemic, the work is mostly from home. The device that any work-from-home person relies upon is a laptop and my previous laptop was a 10year old not so functional Lenovo laptop. My work requires me to make use of several heavy software which my old laptop was unable to support. Buying a new laptop has solved that issue.

Why you selected this product?

My new laptop is Dell Vostro which functions smoothly without lag. I always have to stay connected on a network and switch between multiple tabs on a browser. I have encountered a lot of “screen-freeze” situations while surfing the internet on my previous laptop. However, the new laptop is enriched with a solid-state drive that gives it super speed. The tabs, software or any other program now opens within seconds. The processor is also praiseworthy as it supports various programs at once without any glitches.

Why are you so happy about it?

What adds to my happiness is the fact that I bought this new laptop with my money; the one that I earned through hard work. To not ask for money from someone and buy things that I need according to my will and financial ability, fills me with a sense of pride. This laptop is not just any random useless shopping product that I end up buying, rather it is a constant reminder of my maturity and growth. I have put a lot of research into choosing the best laptop for myself. So, in a way, not only have I invested in this laptop financially but also mentally.

I just hope that this laptop lasts me a long time considering the amount I paid for it. The previous laptop lasted me 10 years. Let's see how long this new laptop lasts for me. The longer it will, the more my happiness will grow. I can say, it is the best purchase I made which made me happier than ever.

Thank you for allowing me to talk about a product that I bought that made me happy. Although I am not much of a shopper, I still scroll through online shopping apps sometimes to find things that I might need since they provide more discounts than offline stores. While scrolling through the products, I stumbled upon a protein powder by Oziva. I bought it and have been using it for the last fifteen days. I must say that so far, I am really happy with my purchase.
