Who is this person?

A very famous person in my country whom I greatly admire is Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. He was also a brilliant scientist and is often called the “Missile Man of India” for his work in defence and space research.

What has this person done?

Dr Kalam made major contributions to India’s missile and space programmes and played an important role in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities. He later became the 11th President of India and was widely known as the “People’s President” because he loved interacting with students and motivating young people.

Why is this person well-known?

He is well-known not only for his scientific achievements but also for his simple lifestyle and inspiring personality. He received many national honours, including the Bharat Ratna, and wrote books that encourage youth to dream big and work hard.

Explain why you admire this person.

I admire him because he rose from a very humble background and reached the highest positions in the country through hard work and education. His positive attitude, humility and dedication to the nation remind me to stay focused, be kind and use my knowledge to help others.

One of the most famous people in my country is Virat Kohli, a world-renowned Indian cricketer. He is considered one of the best batsmen of his generation and has also captained the Indian cricket team.

He led India to historic series wins, such as the Test series victory in Australia, and has received major awards like the Arjuna Award, Padma Shri, and the highest sports honour of the country.

Why is this person well-known?

He is well-known for his aggressive playing style, incredible consistency and fitness level, as well as his leadership on and off the field. Apart from cricket, he is often in the news for his charity work and strong public image, which makes him a role model for many young people.
