Reason to do it quickly

The Annual Function Day is the day that each student and instructor looks forward to. I got to the location since I was also eager. I had to arrive a little earlier than the others because I was a volunteer and needed to set up for the event. Once I arrived, I learned that the musician had forgotten to bring his instruments due to a miscommunication.

Whether it was difficult or easy?

Someone had to think of a speedy solution to the issue. I was there when the incident occurred, and I immediately told the headteacher that I could set up the equipment. I had to do it quickly because the event was about to begin. My friend's father ran a store selling musical instruments. Along with two other volunteers, I sped down there and rented the necessary equipment. Due to the holiday and the fact that all stores were closed, getting the instruments was challenging. I asked a friend, and he called his father. He saved our lives.

What was the outcome of the work?

Though it was challenging, we managed to arrange all the instruments. Most of the teachers and students showed up once I returned with the instruments to the location. Knowing that the event would start on schedule gave me a terrific sense. I was quite relieved that there were no problems at the beginning or the finish.

Reason to do it quickly

There was no one at the office and someone had to go to deliver the system to their homes. It had to be done quickly as people would log in. I went to the office with my team lead and we started to pack the computers. I started to pack them quickly as I got the tricks to pack them. My team leader was stunned to see how well I can arrange things and work on it.

Whether it was difficult or easy?

This gave us a very good start and together we were able to arrange all the laptops in 2-3 hours and start shipping. I will not say that it was easy, it was difficult at first. I had issues with arranging the first 2-3 laptops and making the paperwork for them. However, once I got a hold on it, it was a piece of cake. I feel this happens in our day-to-day life also. If we come upon some task that we are doing for the first time, it seems difficult, but with practice and knowledge, we do succeed in doing that efficiently. Once all the laptops were shipped, it was time for a break and we went to have our lunch.

What was the outcome of the work?

Once we were back, we submitted all the paperwork and had a meeting with the head of the department. He appreciated us for the efforts that we had made, going over and beyond our job roles. It was a great feeling. There is a saying that goes by “Appreciation can make a day, even change a life”. That day truly changed my life as I was recognized and was also given an award at the end of the year.

Reason to do it quickly

One day I was traveling to my hometown and I suddenly got a call. It was an interview call and the person on the other end informed me that the last round of interviews is scheduled for tomorrow. I was traveling and knew that it would be difficult for me to prepare and attend the interview on time, but I did not ask for rescheduling.

I was in need of a job. Once the call was over, I gathered my thoughts on how to prepare and started preparing on the bus itself for the interview. The whole night I was awake preparing for the interview. I was very tight on schedule as I will reach my hometown at 9 and the interview was scheduled at 10 in the morning.

What was the outcome of the work?

As soon as I landed, I ran to my home and it was already 9:15 A.M. I told my mother that I have an interview and have to get ready for that. It was difficult to freshen up, have breakfast and go through the last-minute preparations but I ended up doing that successfully. Hard work pays off and the interview went very well. I was surprised by how quickly I managed everything for the interview. I got the job and it was a delightful moment for me and my family.
