Model Answer 1
What information?

On occasion, especially online, we encounter incorrect information. We now question the quality of such books, websites, and blogs because even books include inaccurate information. In the post, recommendations were made to completely cut out fried foods and anything else that even had oil, as well as to drink plenty of water and do weights every day. They had built their diet on just allowing individuals to indulge in salads or fruit juices.

Where do you hear/read this information?

As I was a regular reader I followed the advice that they had mentioned on the website. Undoubtedly, I lost a significant amount of weight but what accompanied it was a pale look on my face, Vitamin D deficiency and a loss of strength. The condition got worse days later so we had to visit a doctor.

When you heard/read it?

About six months ago I came across an article about fitness on one of the popular health and fitness websites. I follow this website on a regular basis, so I am completely in the articles or material that they posted. They had once posted an article about weight loss.

Explain why you think it is incorrect.

My doctor then informed me that I shouldn’t follow any diet without knowing my body type as there are some things that suit only a specific body type.He also advised me not to drink too much water as a higher percentage of water in our bodies can lead to a shock and the person can go into a coma. The amount of water every person should drink depends on the weight of the person, thus, it is not safe to drink as much water as we need. This wrong piece of information cost me a lot. From then on I decided to never follow a diet blindly.

What information?

A false piece of information is impossible to avoid. In many instances, the information we read or hear in daily life is incorrect. I recall getting incorrect results for my board exams roughly two years ago. Since I had studied thoroughly, I was hoping for a passing grade of at least 90%. I was convinced that I would receive a score of at least this because I had written my mathematics and science exams successfully. I was pleased and content with the way I had completed the examinations.

Where do you hear/read this information?

Finally, our results were out and I scored sixty percent. I was taken aback by the results as this was not what I was expecting at all. I thus, reached to the state board and informed them about my dilemma. They reverted that they would look into the matter and get back to me in about two weeks. I was confident that it is definitely a system issue as I couldn't have scored this low.

When you heard/read it?

For the two weeks that I had to agai wait for my results I was anxious and nervous. My friends had already started applying for colleges based on their score, I indeed was nervous and restless to no extent.

Explain why you think it is incorrect.

After two weeks the state board wrote back to me that there had been a system glitch which is why my results had been uploaded incorrectly. I was relieved and also happy that I had scored 95 percent in my board exams. I was confident that I had done well on exams and in the end I got the score that I deserved. It is important that we remain calm under such situations. I was undoubtedly nervous but was confident about the hard work that I had put in for my exams.

Model Answer 3

What information?

My buddies first informed me about the painting competition that was being held by a reputable company about eight months ago over email. The mail also included information about the venue and the registration fee. It excited me because I adore painting and I wanted to dabble in extracurricular activities because it was summer break from college.

Where do you hear/read this information?

I registered on the website and paid a 500 rupee fee. After the successful payment I got an email that my spot in the competition had been confirmed and I had to reach the venue at 10.00 AM on a friday. On reaching I couldn’t see anyone. It was already 10, and I was getting anxious. I approached the receptionist sitting at the office and told her that I was waiting for the painting competition to start.

When you heard/read it?

She sounded confused and said that there was no painting competition organised by them. In Fact they only organise such events once a year and the event is yet to be conducted. I then showed her the receipt of the registration. It was a system issue from their end that they couldn’t update the correct information. After a while a few other people came up with the same complaint.

Explain why you think it is incorrect.

The receptionist was patient enough and explained to everyone about the issue. She also said they would revert back the registration amount paid. I then returned home. It was the most disappointing event that I faced due to a wrong piece of information. It was careless and incorrect behaviour on the firm's part to not update or provide a disclaimer on the website the wrong information.
