Decisions are a very important part of one’s life. It can make or break one’s life. Hence, taking any decision requires understanding and logical reasoning. Recently, someone made a decision for me, which I am going to explain.

Who this person is?

Recently, my father made a decision for me. I had just cleared my 10th exam and was about to take admission to high school. I was a good student from my childhood and hence, everyone had many expectations from me.

What decision he/she took?

I was good at Mathematics. Hence, I wished to take science as the main subject. However, my father forced me to take commerce, which included Statistics. I was shocked at first and had a fight with my father. My father explained to me why he made the decision. Since I was not very good at Chemistry, my father had forced me to align with his decision.

When he/she took this decision?

It happened on the last day of admission to the school I wanted to get admitted to. Hence, I did not have time to change or amend the decision. It was taken, and my father took it for me.

And explain how you felt about the decision

I somehow lost interest and came back home very sad. At first, I did not feel like going to school slowly, I started to grow interested. Since then, I did not look back and was so happy that I took commerce. I am now a Chartered Accountant working for an MNC. I also have my own startup education center, which my wife takes care of. All this happened only because of the decision that was taken by my father long back.

Model Answer 2

Making an important decision is not easy. Decisions can be very hard sometimes when you need to choose between 2 best things in life. I faced a similar situation and could not make a decision. I had to take help from someone else.

Who this person is?

Recently, I received two job offers from two best companies at the moment. One was TCS and one was Wipro. I was so fascinated and overwhelmed with joy that I could not decide which company to select. When I faced such a situation, I called my brother in Law, who is the regional manager of a MNC. I knew he would be the best person after me to make the decision.

What decision he/she took?

My brother-in-law informed me that the selection depends on various factors like location, insurance provided and obviously salary. We had a three-hour-long decision, and he made a valid decision for me. He asked me to join TCS due to the health insurance provided, which was huge.

When he/she took this decision?

This decision was taken on my birthday. Everyone came to our house, where I had the chance to talk to my brother-in-law. The decision was taken at that time and I announced it to my family also.

And explain how you felt about the decision

I was very glad that I could take the decision, for which I was very happy. To my surprise, everyone whom I did not like was also very happy. I was glad that I could make the decision on time and accept the offer.

What decision he/she took?

I informed him about the dilemma I was facing. I could not decide that I would stay in my hometown and do a private job, or I would go to the city and carry out my passion which is acting. He told me that a person can be happy by doing a job and can earn money. However, if I do not follow my passion, I will not be happy. He also explained that happiness is the only thing that matters in life.
